Okay, it's not really 3-D but this might be a boring subject and I wanted people to click it.

Bush is on his way into a second term. What is going to happen to his Cabinet?

Colin Powell is going to be out. My sense is that he's not happy and given the WMD information to the UN his position might be served better with some new and energetic blood. A lot of people like Colin Powell, but I think he is one of the most bland people on the planet. For s econd term Bush needs someone new.

Tom Ridge will leave. Homeland Security is a crappy job with no rewards. It is also a monster. (from a management perspective) Ridge is out and will step down. I see Guiliani as a prime candidate for this one. He will never be electable in the future so he needs an appointment. Let's just hope he doesn't make anymore "blaming the troops" soundbytes.

Donald Rumsfeld needs to go. The war in Iraq needs a makeover and getting rid of Rumsfeld is the quickest and easiest way to do it. He can skirt the responsibility but he still has Abu Ghraib and Al Quaqa on his watch. That's a lot to weather over the next four years in the face of a difficult reconstruction effort. He's gone.

John Ashcroft is out the door too. Even with the Patriot Act, John Ashcroft has yet to successfully prosecute a single terrorist successfully. This isn't about him being super creepy, it's about result and he has yet to produce any. If conservative want any chance at a decent contiuation of the Patriot Act, they will need to ditch John Ashcroft and fast. Gone in 60 seconds, if not sooner.

So how would you shuffle the Cabinet? Do you think Bush is okay with what he's got?

There haven't been any announcements yet but there's a lot of talk that Ashcroft will be stepping down. At least that's some good news. I have no clue who might replace him. Creepy fundmentalist crackpots who lose elections to dead people don't grow on trees.

If Ashcroft leaves, I will be a VERY happy man. I might even be able to excuse some of Bush's other policies. :D

Ashcroft? Step down? Holy shit, as long as Bush doesn't replace him with someone equally anti-american, I'll be happy, oh so very happy. It's actually Ashcroft that I have more problems with than Bush. Bush is an extremist loon. Ashcroft is an extremist loon with the power to do things.

Yeah Ashcroft is stepping down, supposedly for health reasons.

Adding to the shakeup. Condi should be looking to get out of the Security office. I see her easily migrating to Secretary of State. It would be a smart move for Bush. He needs someone else in her position and pronto. Condi will do better as Secretary of State.

How happy would you be with this scenario?
