SL is a lot tamer than the things that went on in TSO. There was a definate "scene" in TSO with Masters/Subs, hookers, whatever. I thought it was interesting and entertaining for awhile, but it did make me feel sick when I discovered one of the hookers trying to pick me up was a RL 14 year old.

This is just depressing. Doesn't TSO police this sort of behavior toward other players (i.e. locking them in a "freezer" and generally mistreating newbies)?

I'm really glad now that I never got into the TSO beta. It sounds even more bleak and unappealing than There.

TSO Beta was ok. It really went down the toilet when it went (prematurely) live.
