Try MMORPG.com - complete list for you to choose from, including betas. If you are looking for something similar, I think personally that SL is way ahead of any alternatives out there.

there was that chrogut.. SOME OTHER METAVERSE thingy mentioned a bit back in these forums. It was a kind of distributed client thing. But that's raw alpha stages.

Open Croquet is what you are thinking of - definitely not ready for prime time, and similar to SL really only in the fact that it is 3d and you can create things. It is much more of development platform than an online world. _____________________

im starting to beleive that second life is the best online game.i cant seem to find anything bettter at all. For this type of environment, there is nothing at all in Second Life's league. As diversions, Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft are both excellent (especially the second), but you have to be into RPGs. They are totally different from SL, and are more of a diversion when you need a break from SL. I have been playing SL for nearly 2 years, and I am more into it than I ever have been, when I was bored with TSO and There after a month or two. That definitely says something about SL. _____________________
