Just exercising my fucking right to fucking swear because I fucking feel like it.
So I spend hours and hours and hours creating one of the most expansive builds SL has seen (not to mention elegant looking instead of some hideous monstrosity) - nearly a sim in length.
Part of it spans a small section of someone elses tiny unused strip of land that cuts the land I was building on clean in half - one that's too small to build on and is obviously just for prims - but this person hasnt logged into SL since before 1.2. They have been sent dozens of messages asking if they would get in touch, if they would sell the land to the build owner, to contact me if there is any issues when they see what we've done. All that kinda stuff. Been as helpful and friendly as possible.
So what does he do? When he finally logs in to SL, he chooses to ignore all these messages, not contact any of us and delete - not return, mind you... delete - the middle of the build that spans his land. Which includes most of the linked objects either side of it on the land it was legitimately meant to be built on.
I don't have copies and I don't have the inclination to repair it. Delete the whole fucking thing. See if I fucking care. Fucker.

Yes, it does fucking suck. Been there, done that, ripped by build to shreds because of it.

Kris,
That sucks, the big one.
I've had that happen, and learned two important lessons:
- never build on/over someone's land, unless you *really* get to know them
- keep copies of every section of your build
Side Note: please use 'Return' instead of 'Delete'.
Got any pics of that build? I'd love to see it, if it's still standing.

The return option performs the exact same function, with less damage to both sides of the confrentation, its more win-win. I know that delete is useful for killing a griefer's objects, but do you really want a land owner to have that kind of power over regular stuff? I mean, its just plain cruel to delete someone's hard work. Kris, I feel yah man. I had this situation happen to me while testing something in Slate, it happened to be the ideal spot to test my creation, and I checked if the owner was online. He was not, however, sometime during the testing, he popped in, deleted my object, and popped right back out, I couldn't even talk to him.
