I'm sitting here freezing as the heat went out last night : (
This is what I want people to see:
On Friday I got an instant message from someone I'd met once, who said things
that made no sense to me. This was inside Second Life. Finally she
said, "Why did you send me those pictures?" Eh? Turns out porno pix
had been sent to her in my name. I immediately contacted the Linden
Lab people, who said it sounded like an exploit not long ago where a
set of wings would be sent to a person. If that person put them on it
sent out porno to everyone within a certain distance. I'd hate to
think dozens of porno pix are in people's inventories with my name
attached. And it isn't in wings anymore.
If you received rude pictures attached to my name please understand that it wasn't my doing, and I think you should contact the Lindens and tell them what you received.

If you own "Red Wings", delete them. It's the wings that are scripted to give out the images to anyone nearby.

If I knew I'd tell you, Cubey. I don't even know when exactly this happened -- not Friday, as I was doing my usual thing of working in Photoshop and trying things on in the previewer. I'd also received a mystery IM at some point before that I'd ignored since I had no clue what it was about.

I mysteriously got a picture also the other day - sounds like the same one that was given out in the wings. I was just flying from a telehub to check out some land in Ravenglass. I didn't see anyone around and could not find the objec that gave me the texture. It just poped up on my screen. The description said it was done in revenge. It did not say who it was from.
So - this is obviously still happening. Not sure what or who gave me the texture though. I wish that when people gave you a texture it would ask you like with other objects if you want to keep or discard it. Then you could at least tell where it came from.

Right click on the texture in inventory and look at properties.

When I check the properties of the texture (which I had already done when I get it). It says the creator is the person it is a picture of.
Texture name = john Doe nude pic (name changed for obvious reasons)
Description = this if for revenge ....... (blah blah - shortened)
Creator = john Doe (same name as in the name of the texture)
Obviously the person that uploaded the picture gave it to someone. that someone then (for some reason) started to distribute it. The creator's name is still with it and unfortunately not the name of the person that started to distribute it.
