New sims... sad arms.

The new sims going up look so beautiful. Picturesque scenery. Wonderful waterfalls. Even a volcano. It's very resort-looking ish.

Fast forward to a month, two months from now, and it'll look like yet another messy region in SL... cubes-for-houses, rotating store signs, exploding particles, and gaudy textures puked everywhere.

Sigh.

I hate its unoriginal, uninspiring, bland, tasteless (yum!), same old same old, mediocre, lacks any creativity whatsoever, I r stupid... residents who buy or get the land free only to wreck it.

Show us your talent new owners... *flaps limp hand against upper chest repeatedly*

Isn't it always the way though. I asked someone yesterday after the announcement how long they gave it before the M sims there would be porn havens. The answer, a week at most...

i'm so in love with the new lands. and it literally aches me to think of some crap being erected next to the falls or the volcanos. someone butchering the terrain. i'm taking as much pics as i can while everything looks the way it is. if i could buy the land there, i would in a heartbeat. or at least join a group where everyone in it supports buildling around the sims's beauty.

there is hope. look at solang, rua and teal (well most of teal). it's all beachy garden housey and very creative.

is there any solution? selling only larger tracts of land to maintain some consitency in building would alleviate some of the little spinning crap and generally reduce lag. the good sims end up with a few people buying all the property anyway. why not jump the gun. oh i guess it wouldn't be fair and a few people wouldn't play anymore. oh well.

the lindens have imposed terraforming restrictions but cannot impose building restrictions. that's been very well proven.

anyway, i know this is a rant, but maybe somebody can post an idea that makes sense. they might even implement it. you never know. do do do do

or maybe making it impossible to merge parcel so it could stay little houses and things like it

or maybe blocking the terraforming

How about a sim that is no build - only lands-capable and gardens.

Don't know if that's possible technically.

Where the heck are all these mature "porn filled" sims? I keep hearing reference to them and I just can't find them.

I see mature sims with some adult content in shops or private builds, but certainly not alot of it.

I see mature sims with normal shops, normal/beautiful builds, useless crap..etc. In fact, unless I happen to stumble across a nakkie party, or sneak into someones basement, I often can't tell the difference between a PG sim and a Mature sim without checking the map listing.

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough? Perhaps if I stare real hard I'll see pornographic images in the clouds, or the bark of a tree?

Not long ago, someone posted a doom-filled message about how SL was becoming all about porn, and how mature sims were filled with adult content and images, so I went looking. Most mature sims I traveled through were pretty damn tame and practicially identical to neighboring PG sims. In fact, my gallery is one of the only real porn(art)-filled establishments that I've run across. I do see a picture or piece of art work here and there, but usually inside of a business or club and rarely ever out in any obvious place.

I have a home in Mimas, which is a mature sim. Please, feel free to fly/walk through this sim anytime and see how filled with adult/porn material it is... Cause it's really a lovely place. The same could be said for Nakaa, where I also have land and many other mature sims...

on the other hand, i see a sim like enceladus, where the terrain is unique and beautiful. some of the building is fascinating and takes advantage of the terrain. some of the building is box-on-the-rock, or the same old dreary sex-and-shock trash.

and no, do not dare tell me that what is trash to me is art to someone else; that's too easy, and most of us know the difference.

fast forward a few more months past that and the most of the offensive cubes, signs, particles, and textures disappear and are replaced with interesting builds. just look at some of the older sims.
