Something that's starting to really irk me...

Restricted land.

I've done it. I'll admit it. When I was working on an AV I didn't want people to see yet, or those times when I just get so sick of people I want to scream. But I've never had land blocked off for extended periods of time.

But it's getting out of control.

And half the time, it seems, its completely empty land.

A plot of land next to a build I'm working on right now, for example. Fairly large plot of land. NOTHING on it, up to 768 meters. Not one bloody thing. Blocked off.

Another place. Better than 3/4ths of a sim I pass through between two lots of mine, blocked off. And I dont mean in scattere patches.

Randomly flying around sims, bam, blocked off land. Often times with at best a prefab house, more often it seems nothing at all.

Person who owns a little plot, anywhere from 16 m2 to 120+, right in the middle of other stuff, blocked off.

You know, I can understand banning *a person* from your land. I can even understand banning many people from your land. On a case by case basis.

But why in the hell do so many people feel the need to block their entire plot off? What is this, the next "kewl trend"? "Look at me, I'm so cool, you can't get on my land because your not me!"

Honestly.

IMO, total blocking of a plot should only work when an AV is online. If you have something that secret, take it into your inventory, a'right? Its not like you can *really* keep anyone from snooping, what with camera spying... All your doing is being a pain in the butt to people trying to get from point A to point B.

I understand your sentiment to parts...
I do block sometimes...depending on what I am working on..

and yes...the Mimas lots is blocked too..and no.....taking that into my inv....I don't think so*grin
Reason is that I want to build it and then opne it....I am working with some new ideas and just for some....premature release issues.....I am blocking access currently.
As soon as its finished it will be public...
oh and yes...once in a while we block simply to have some privacy....(but thats short term things)

Wasn't actually even thinking of mimas (Don't think I've been to Mimas in a while, that I can recall).

I understand the thought of building something in secret and then opening it to the public, its a nice thought. But even less so in real life, you basicly cant keep a secret of that scale here. The red lines dont really block vision at all even from outside, and considering they dont block your camera from passing through, they dont even really keep a person from exploring something, unless its *massive*...

*shrug*

Even still, you know, heck. I could forgive people who block of access to a plot their workign on. That wouldnt bug me too much.

But when there is NOTHING THERE? Or prefab housing? Or whatnot? Thats just silly.
