THis is not a sports board, and I highly doubt Pedro is down in the Dominican Republic playing with prims, but I know there a quite a few Boston Red Sox fans that are part of Second Life.
I am sad to see Pedro go but I am grateful for everything he has done. Us Red Sox fans had one hell of a fall and the feeling still has not left me. I watched Faith Rewarded for my 4th time last night and it still brings a tear of joy to my eyes. Pedro was a key part of this years World Series. The New York Mets are gaining one hell of a competitor and I will be surprised if they dont make the post season this year. I wish Pedro nothing but the best of luck and I hope his arm holds up through the full four years for The Mets.
I was at the game in 1999 when Pedro struck out 18 Yankees. I was there in 1999 during the ALCS when Pedro gave the Sox the only little respect they could gain during the pitiful series. I was at the game in 2000 when Pedro and Clemens battled it out for 9 innings of the greatest pitching performances Ive ever seen two team have. My sons first game at Fenway was to witness Pedro make the Devil Rays look like a minore league team (yeah like they need help there). I will always remember game 3 of the WOrld Series and how Pedro stepped up when it counted. Pedro is the best pitcher the Sox will EVER have in my lifetime.
In the end, he left for a team willing to pay him more. I would like to be pissed at him. How can I though? I dont think I would be able to turn down 15 million more dollars either. So all I can say is Thank You for the memories and good luck.
