Dude, what if the Matrix was real? You'd be like, in the Matrix playing a game about being in the Matrix. The Matrix would have allowed a game to be made about itself. Whoa...

Can the Matrix please go away now? That whole "what if reality isn't what it seems" shtick was old when Descartes was playing with it. Just keep repeating, "It's not that deep..."

Now we get another boring MMO that will be just like all the others, dressed up in a whizbang hip metaphor. It's still the same old magic system / combat system mindless levelgrinding as ever only now you'll get PK'ed by people named n30_tHa_0n3 and Trinitee696969 instead of Drag0nmasta13 and Sauron_Stunna.

The reality thing is rather annoying, especially to hardened existentialists. It's so immature.

I just wish there wasn't such an abundance of MMO's that all focused on killing goblins and dragons.

However, MxO does seem to have potential in that there is no levelling system. It's all slot-based skills that you can trade as items w/ other players... I'm going to try it out to see and let you know what it's like.

Cheers.

I'll *try* it, but I dont have much hope for it.

My real hope right now is Guild Wars, which is fun so far, and World of Warcraft, both of which promise fantasy gaming (Hey, I like fantasy), but aimed a bit more at 'casual' players.

I just wish more MMO's didn't focus on killing anything. Bonk bonk ding! Bonk bonk ding! Oh, wait, there is SL. I'll be back later.

You left out "A Tale in the Desert"... And you could play Earth and Beyond without combat, if you wanted... though it died now, I guess. I don't know if the other similar MMORPGs... EVE was it? Are the same way.
