Anyone else thing reinstating the credit card requirement for newbies is a *good* thing?? I do. I ran into a *very* under age trial user the other day and though this user was very nice and had decent manners, the actual age of the person freaked me out. I know it's up to parents what their kids do online and there's no way to keep the youngin's out -- but I get uncomfortable around little kids online -- I feel like I have to watch my behavior and what I say, even in a PG sim. I don't like censoring myself, I suppose if I chose to simply act like I normally do around youngin's it wouldn't matter, but my first instinct is to immediately start watching my p's and q's. Not to mention that it feels like I'm babysitting a good deal of the time when I run into someone that young. I know I'm *not* but I get this feeling . . .like in high school . . .which I had to watch the neighbor's kids . . .ugh. I hope the reinstating of the credit card might cut down on folks joining who barely qualify as pre-teen.
I don't have anything against kids, don't get me wrong. I just don't like that "oops gotta watch myself" feeling that comes with realizing I'm chatting with someone who is young enough to be *my* kid -- which is pretty young.

Apparently, the removal of the CC requirement resulted in a dramatic increase in trial users, but a less-than-stellar increase in the number of trial users that convert to paying members. I imagine the decision was made that the one or two extra people that sign up as paying members just don't offset the number of trial users that are here just to cause trouble. Edit: Sometimes I swear this thing just removes words from my posts. Either that, or I just think faster than I type and occasionally skip a phrase. :-/ _____________________

This is great news! I hope they are emphasizing that the credit card requirement is for age verification purposes.
