Ok I know I should probably post this in projects, but we all know far fewer people read that board than this one, and I need as much involvement as possible. Oz Spade and I would like to begin to compile a visual and written history of SL, from alpha through 1.2 and beyond ultimately. The bulk of the content would be used on the SLUniverse.com web site with a section dedicated to this project, but content would also be built in SL (though unfortunately no longer on Island). If anyone is interested in helping with this project, please contact me in game or via email at [email]cristiano@the-beach.net[/email]. Second Life has such a rich history already, and as we make the transition through 1.2 and move forward, it is also important for us to look back. Any assistance in the way of screen shots, stories, timeline info, etc. would be greatly appreciated and all credit will be given to those who donate content.

I have been keeping tabs on the geographical expansion of the grid since I got here. Well, I started recently, but I have a good idea on when things were added (by month).

I wouldn't mind contributing my info on this.

Heard of it... Even joined a forum there !

But what is it ?

I'd love to see tutorials on :

Scripting
building
texturing
clothing

and even

How to make $L - effective marketing in game

I'd also love some user submitted textures etc as the sample ones at this website are light on.

Is that what SLuniverse is gonna be ?

All the best for the site..the history of sl sounds great.

Are you getting any assistance from Linden ? surely this kinda info is on record there ?

Davo,

The site launch was delayed by the 1.2 announcement and the holidays, development has resumed on it. Everything you requested will be part of the site. Visual tutorial content on scripting, building, clothing, and texture effects will be included.

As far as the history project and Linden involvement, I want to structure the plan a little more before approaching them, and would also like to see the history be very heavily from the user's perspective.
