Tringo pot etiquette

As a newcomer to SL (only on the 3rd day of my trial), I'm a bit confused about the whole Tringo pot donation thing...

The first session I played in, I put a few L$ into every pot, though of course won nothing as I didn't really have a clue about the game strategies at that time.

The next session I only contributed to a couple of pots, still didn't win of course!

Anyway, today I blew the few $L I had left on some casino games. Then with L$0 in my virtual pocket, played Tringo and after a few games won three in a row! As soon as I won my first game I then put some of my winnings back into each of the following pots but what is the etiquette?

It seems strange to put an arbitrary sum into a pot... but I don't feel I should play without contributing.

I am not sure there is a standard etiquette. In my mind you should donate something every round. How much depends on various things like how much money you have, have you won recently, etc. Personally i always put in at least 20. If i win a big pot like 1000 i would put in 20% next round, like 200.

Oh I can respond to this one....I've been bitten by the Tringo bug myself. While it is usually not required to donate ANYTHING to the pot, be it Tringo, Bingo or whatever. Unless it's a pay per card game I personally, like Middy, donate $20 to each round....but that is because Tringo has been good to me lately. When I do win big I usually ante up more.....I don't figure a percentage, I just toss some in there. It's often difficult to see for a certainty who is or isn't donating.....and most people don't really care.....if UR broke don't.....if U have a little love to spread go for it, makes it more fun for everyone.

Each time I have tried to visit a Tringo game the lag was so bad that I could not even see what is going on. I have no idea how the game works.

Where is a good place/time to go play where the lag is bearable?

I try to put in a little each time.. and when I win, I toss more in. BUT, don't feel like you have to donate. That is why it is called donating. If you have it to give, it is appreciated.. if not.. then well.. ya know.. you don't.

My personal pet peeve regarding donation pots for Tringo (or Bingo or any other game) is when people try to make people donate. There is just nothing worse than someone sitting there shouting at the players to add more... build it up.. come on you cheapskates.. we know #### has it to give... etc etc. It just takes the FUN out of the event for me. I remember being a newbie with ZERO in my pocket and how horrible I felt when people would try to build the pots up in this manner. It makes the less $L endowed feel like crap. 'nuff said on this.. LOL

But.. that sums up my feelings... donate if you like.. if you don't have it to donate.. or if you are having a rough day and not really fully there to play or in a lag storm.. whatever.. then don't.. It is YOUR choice.. Just have FUN and enjoy the event. Be friendly and polite and not make anyone feel bad for not donating (or not being ABLE to donate).

One of the nice things about Tringo is that decision is up to you. Being somwhat wealthy I always threw in a 100 or so myself.. but again, it's up to you. If you just throw in 5 a go, people will figure you're poor and still not care

I haven't played tringo/slingo etc that much but i always throw in at least $L100. The other day the owner said they would match the pot so i threw in 1k.

I don't mind people not paying, but 500L is only $2 which in real money is about £1.20. But i do feel sorry for those with no money which is why i end up donating more.

After extensive research, I found that $2 is REAL money, but I cant figure out what that £1.20 means.
