How lame is this...
I hooked up my new combo VCR/DVD player this morning - and the DVD player works, but the VCR doesn't. I hooked it up to the SVideo in the back of the TV just like my old DVD player. What did I do wrong?

Does the VCR not work at all, or does it run, but you can't see playback?

should be a button to push to switch between the two on the front.

I bet if you look in the manual it will tell you that s-video is for DVD playback only and so you still need to use the rca cables or the coaxial cable for VCR and tv viewing.

We dont have a combo but when I turn on our DVD, I have to switch the tv to AUX and channel 3 to play. When I turn on our VCR I just turn it on and it plays.
You may check the directions to see if one input is AUX and one isnt.

(The manual is written SO badly that I couldn't tell that - it only showed a diagram for hooking it up with SVideo, and forgot to mention that if you do so only the DVD would work.) THANK YOU! P.S.
