Bush wants to either screw things up so badly the democrats wont even want to run against him for fear of being blamed for the massive problems mostly obscurred for now with celebrity deaths and scandals, or have such a lock on the media (see previous part of the sentence) that the majority of people will be swayed to vote for his thugs again.
The cool thing is that this is the perfect time for a 'radical' outsider to kick ass, forget a yuppie like Howard Dean, we need a lovable genius like, say, Phil Lesh from the Gratefull Dead, if he speaks articulately and is ultra left wing he will destroy the republicans!!! Green Party would be good or hell, re-animate the Whiggs, as long as it ain't the democrats who literally suck...
