I will pay cash for land. My prediction - The price of land is going to drop on Jan 12. I will pay cash for your land NOW. Many people are holding on to parcels that they dont intend on keeping. Waiting til Jan 12 will be a mistake. Price to be determined on a per plot basis. If you are holding out for Jan 12 - do yourself a favor and IM me now.

I see a land speculator here, trying to talk down the price of land.

How can the price drop below the current L$1 per meter?
Seeing as how you need most of your land in the same sim to get the max prim use, it seems there will probably be someone waiting to buy what you may have for sale. It is a possible situation where you cant wait for your land to sell in order for you to buy elsewhere and you have to release at a loss, but I think that is going to be rare.

Loki, I was doing one of my increasingly rare tours, yesterday, and there are a LOT of larger parcels of land for sale in the neighborhood of one MILLION Lindendollars and more. I'm not sure what the point is of such a very high price. For what it's worth, there is plenty of nice land still available in DarkWood - sometimes for LESS than $1 a square meter - and all you have to do is stay within the fairly loose theme. Yeah, probably a joke.
I just wanted to clarify the land situation in DarkWood. We *do* have quite a bit of land at our disposal. There are a few rules though. First, we have to fill all plots next to previous builds before we can expand outward. We have about 5,000 m at our disposal in Dore and most of the DarkWood sim at our disposal. However, if you do want to buy land in the DarkWood Theme, you have to do a few things first.
1. You have to join the Darkwood group (talk to any officer about joining, you don't have to own land in the theme to be in the group).
2. Then, you have to tell an officer how much land you want to buy and wait for an officer vote to let you buy land. It's really just a formality, we just want to make sure people coming in will 1) stay in Theme. It is somewhat loose in the sense that it's "historical fantasy" but we want to keep the "historical fantasy" feel about the place. Otherwise, it wouldn't be DarkWood. and 2) will work with the group when it comes to the overall look of both sim areas. I.E. putting up certain trees to keep a continuous look, etc. etc. Not terraforming too much, etc. etc.
Right now we *do* have several waterfront plots that are available and a few plots in the DarkWood square in Dore and DarkWood. The DarkWood square, for anyone who doesn't know, is full of shops selling fantasy themed objects, clothes, etc. And it does quite well because of the newbie draw from Dore.
So we have residential and commerical plots available, you just might not have your "first choice" of plots if you decide to join us -- meaning, we have to follow those Linen guidelines of filling up the plots next to already built plots first. If you're interested, contact me or any of the other DarkWood officers and we can chat. I also have a list of all the immediately available spots there if you want to see it.

From: someone Carnildo Greenacre I see a land speculator here, trying to talk down the price of land. Yes, I am a land speculator. No I am not trying to talk down the price of land. It would be detrimental to my business. I was simply stating my prediction. I truly beleive that on Jan 12 prices of land will drop. This will not be true (speculation) if you purchase through an auction as those prices should be very high. I've talked to alot of people who intend to purchase land in the auctions, yet have not sold there current parcels. Lindens, correct me if I am wrong, you cant even bid on a property if you do not have the land allotment available at time of bid. That was my understanding.... So, if you want to get something for your extra land m, IM me.

You could always just tier up to the next pricing range if needed. Some people don't want to give up their current land until they are sure they are getting the newer plot that they were hoping for, so there is no reason for those people to give up their land in the hope that they win the auction land. Besides, you don't officially get the land until you tier up and accept the land on the website. You can convcievablly buy all the land in world if you have the Lindenbucks for it, but wouldn't be able to do anything with it until you accept that land from the website. That's just my opinion, and what i believe will be happening though. I could be wrong.

I think this was to ensure that the purchase was confirmed and that the people bidding understood how it would affect their monthly billing beforehand.

that was stated very clearly in the stillman auction announcement. you had to have the lindens in your pocket and the proper tier approved in your account summary to win the bid.
surely the rules won't change overnight for the new sim auctions. wait. what am i saying? i'm so silly.

Zana, Mistress of DarkWood Cave I would like to make a similar point regarding land in Gray. This is the home of the Kazenojin Theme Community, and we're dedicated to providing a home for flying creations and related structures such as space stations and airship docks out of the golden age of flight. Recently there have been a few people who have taken advantage of the chaos surrounding the transition to buy up parcels of land that went public unexpectedly. I want to reiterate that this is a theme community, and we have our own constitution and rules regarding building here. I also want to say that more chaos is due to arrive on the 12th, but it is our intent to continue to use the land for the Theme Community and we have the resources to do so. So please - don't grief us that day. It's possible some parcels may go public in the transition but it's intended for use only by members of Kazenojin. That said, anyone who loves flying craft can join Kazenojin, and if you would like a place to build airships or spacecraft or any other flying creation, you will be welcomed here wholeheartedly. It is our intention to continue to provide a space where these can be created by our members, whether or not they own any land.
