From the Magellan Chronicles, today's entry:
Two if by Sea
Been too busy to write lately - extended "negotiations" with LIER. They want to allow settlers to come here already - and I'm not done exploring yet!
I can't stop them, but I can slow them down. They will let us keep exploring, but make available the land we have already explored. Otherwise, I will tell the world about LIER's past as a barber shop quartet (Ryan is a lovely tenor).
*sigh* When everyone is Exploring, where is the room for Explorers?
The floodgates open today.
Does this mean the new land is arriving today? It sure sounds like it. So, since I'm stuck here at work - anyone who can get in game today, keep an eye out and post some pics if the land comes up!!!

From: Juro Kothari Blingland.... now there's a name for the new continent! Yarrr. Or at least one of the sims. The rest could be named things like KRUNK, DOPE, and ELEMENTALELECTROFUNK.

Does "Two If By Sea" mean we get double-prims for land owned in these new sea sims?

If all the Lindens are going to keep is a one-sim-wide land bridge between the two continents, I guess property values on the two endpoints of the bridge are going to skyrocket...?
Course, I'm a newbie, so I have no real idea what's going to happen. But it'll be interesting to watch.
I wonder what was up with the middle sim on the bridge? The one with the oil rig; can't remember the name. Massive time dilation...it took me a good five minutes to cross the sim, with only 3-5 other avies in it. And I hit the same thing in the Northernmost sim of the new land.

it'll likely not stay that way. tan was the only land bridge between the original core sims and the colour sims. but it eventually got filled in despite the wailings of "paid so much for the land to get the flyover traffic..."
i remember feeling awful for the people that owned umber when sims started stacking around the borders. it was actually billed at auction as a semi-private area hanging off the edge of the world.
but the place has to grow and we'll have to suffer a bit of not backward compatibility. it's worth it in the end. we don't have children here so we just have to "do it for the community."

So guess the water sims will be going, and the bridge will be.
Also, are there going to be trains running through the continent? There is a train track extending all the way across it.

Most likely the Two If By Sea was a reference to how everyone had to fly across the void sims to get there. The lag with ANRW (or whatever), was most likely due to a) it being a void sim and b) the prim rig. I'd suggest putting it on a more powered sim, rather than getting rid of it, cause it rocks. Also I doubt it'll stay that way, a telehub will probably be put in soon (or atleast I hope). My guess is that the "bridge" sims, aka void sims, will stay around, as they do help LL's plan to get rid of all the annoying blue invisible ocean walls, provide connection between the two continents, provide boaters and people who enjoy flying places a way across. I noticed the train tracks as well, there is also an expiremental train in the works on the tracks. It'd be awsome to see a train going through the sims, something like the one that rusn through some of the former most north sims (Periwinkle being the only one I remember right now). It'd be cool if they could also connect to eachother in some way .

Go explore while you can. It is an adventure traveling four sims of water to get to the new land. That adventure and pioneer spirit will be gone once the telehubs find homes up there.

Will there be a protected wilderness area? Our park ranger (Higbee) has been busy lately but I'm sure he's watching. Someone has to protect the natural habitat of SL Slime Drones, they are an endangered species. Oh and BTW - A very BIG welcome to SL Pathfinder. .
