Can anyone please help and tell wich kind of GIMP to download?
I wish to try and make clothes etc etc.

Yeah, Juliah, at the bottom of the page, theres a link to GIMP for Windows and GIMP for MacOS. I'm sure one of those is what you want.

Assuming you are on a Windows machine: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/ is the one you want for click and go.

You really ought read the documentation or get a GIMP book if you have never done image editing before. GIMP/Photoshop/PaintShop are some of the most complex tools I've used, not because they are poorly written (quite the opposite), but because the image editing is very hard compared to say, writing a letter or balancing a check book.

I have PSP but have heard that GIMP is easier to start with.

I have found it quite straightforward to use. The built in html help is great.

See, as an alternate perspective, I have GIMP and PSP and would /never/ use GIMP over PSP if it wasn't that I've had issues getting PSP to run on my linux laptop. I find GIMP to be clunky as all hell to use.
