Why I am so Bitter right now

I am very bitter at the changes that have happened. And I was Approraching getting over this until I landed at a telehub in an area I don't frequent much.

What really blew me up, was I was at This telehub somewhere and these two people were saying that they have the Lindens in their back pocket and GOM was through the roof and the stupid people will not be getting as much money making the GOM go even higher. The other laughted and said all they have to do is reduce the base pay and they will be set for life.

I am going back and starting over in trying to accept this change. But the more people gloat the harder it gets.

Just because they said these things doesn't make them so. The lindens when they do make changes try and counterbalance any bad effects.

Not to get off topic, but there seems to be a lot of the "I'm best friends with the Lindens and I can get whatever I want" thing going around. Not only in reference to the stipend changes, but just in general - I've seen a number of people pull this little doozy out like it was their trump card in an arguement.

There aren't enough roll-eye emoticons to express my "whatever, dude" feelings about that tactic.

I've heard a lot of inaccurate speculation and rumors inworld that has gotten people stirred up, unfortunately, and clouded their minds with what is not really the case. Inworld, I do recommend and direct fellow avatars to the Announcents Forum for the official Linden news.

I wonder how much of what they said was specifically for your benefit Magnum? A lot of folks know how you feel from your forum posts, so they may have been just trying to get your goat. Or do you have still have that sheep you got from Schwanson?

people that are politically astute enough to have any rapport with the lindens certainly don't flaunt it.

you can bank on the lindens doing what is best for the continued survival of sl and the increasing net profit of linden lab. if they were corporately foolish enough to let players influence them with flattery and party pics they'd've gone under already.

be realistic if it bothers you. when someone trumps your arguement with linden support, ask the linden about it. they talk back and they don't bite. don't ask any linden; press the person for a name and ask that linden specifically.

Hi the other Mags Don't get discouraged. The changes that the Lindens have made have everyone confused. At first, I was very upset, since I get most of my Lindens from hosting trivia events and ratings. After reflection, I have decided that the current situation is a chance for me to move on and learn other things, like building. (Although I took Building 101 5 times and still can't texture a prim, lol) Anyways Mags, just look on the bright side, hang with non-toxic people and keep on keeping on.

I want to publically thank you and Darko for calming me down. Darko does not need to send me any money. I am fine. I just will say a kind word to a new person when I see them. I don't dare go near the visitors center because I get extremely angery over the changes. Staying away from there will benefit me. One day I will go back, yes, One day.

To put what you heard into perspective, Mags..

A good friend of mine used to own a bar, and I used to help run it. Once the bar became really popular, I heard someone at least once a night telling someone what great friends they were with the owner, that they could get free drinks for all their friends if the owner was around, that they'd talk to the owner about special deals or their band playing, etc etc etc. Having really been friends with the owner for about 10 years, I can honestly say that not one of those people were friends with the owner. They were never at our parties. Never at the owner's band's gigs... nothing. They were name-droppers and hangers-on.

The next time you hear someone talk about how 'in' they are with the Lindens, just remember that they're just name-droppers and hangers on, and don't jump to any conclusions that they are doing anything but blowing smoke and masturbating.
