Well here we are ...Monday was a hardware upgrade.. Last 3 weeks there has been a rash of problems.. Pretty much since 1.5 and even before it was a bit edgy.
List of Strange things and Bugs Since 1.5 Trasnforming to Ruth after a TP. (Has been a problem for awhile) Asset Server being overloaded (3 times in 4 days) DOS Attacks (Not much that can be done but fight it and troubleshoot as it happens) Various Prim Bugs (Moving them and rotation, never being able to fix 180.01 to 180.00) Packet Loss (Problem on and off for quite some time and even people with good computers and connections have the same problem)
Fill in ones you have seen.

Fill in ones you have seen. Well here is my report. General Lag. Believed re-placing entire castle with a new castle (Built by Cinde Fate) would help the random crack problem.... unfortunatly it did NOT. 3 days after she built it, I discovered a random crack on the dungon floor. ran the entire length. Periwinkle seems unusually unstable, however FPS meters say all is well.

Ok, this DOS attack thing:
From what I remember, it was not an attack on SL, but rather the ISP that they use. Which means MORE than SL was affected. It was not an attack on SL, and there was nothing AT ALL SL could have done to prevent it.

How a DOS (Denial of Service) attack occurs, in very VERY basic language:
A WHOLE bunch of computers (or one really really really really really really fast one) all send pings to a server which cause the server to send pings back. If enough pings are sent in, the bandwidth for the server can be tied up completely in ping sending.
SL's ISP had this happen. Since the ISP is what connects SL to the rest of us, if the ISP's servers are tied up sending and recieving pings, and nothing else, it can't get SL's data out to us. It also can't get dozens of other websites' info out either. The attack was potentially related to another site that SL's ISP services that is totally unrelated to SL in any way.
SL has no ability to solve their ISP's problems for them, and all SL could do was contact the ISP and inform them that they no longer had internet service.
(There are other ways of doing DOS attacks, but that's the basic one.)

I'd just like all this crap to be fixed before we go to 1.6. I had to log out around 4 times tonight, it got old the 2ed time..tonight.
The ingame message that tells you to log out if you keep having teleport problems is just wrong. When Im working I do a lot of teleporting. This is a pain in the arse. Fix it. Shut the game down for a couple days if you need. Better than dealing with lag/teleport lag/prim lag.
Don't tell me its my computer--Its not Don't tell me its my connection--its not. Not every other day when I have cable and a 3k connection. Don't tell me its my sim--its not its any/all sims Dont tell me I have to many attachments--I don't I have 1.
I don't have a habit of coming to the forums to bitch but I'm getting tired of the problems while playing this game.

The last three sound more like packetloss than anything regarding SL in specifics... perhaps the connection is bogged down between your computer and LLab. LF

I can't seem to acquire land fast enough, surely this is a bug of some kind!
I can only hope that the industrious forces within SL will allow me to expand my empire and by extension, my profits.

I agree with Crimson when sims are running between 700-900 fps there should be no lag no delayed Rezing no delayed scripting saves nothing. But he and I have experienced massive lag lately. Lot of the time when other people are lagging I used to joke and say what lag as my system is more than adequate to handle SL as is Crimsons.
Need to start a campaign to fix what is broken by past updates first before we move forward with any new intervention or Ideas.
I know many have cried Havok 2 for ages and many have cried for other things to be implimented. But at the current rate Havok 6 will be out before we can impliment 2 and then the other bugs still wont be fixed.
I dont have a comprehensive list but talking to enough people and enough scriptors there are plenty of bugs that currently cripple SL compaired to what it used to be.
Many know I am one of the older members of SL comming up on my 2yr anniversary in world soon but as a not of learning if the past is not studies then we are doomed to repeat it in the future and with these bugs and apparent problems that have been continually mentioned or quoted, if they are not fixed then any major upgrade will be a fiasco.

This rotation one has been driving me up the wall... even trying to lock it before it drifts back to .01 doesn't work, the other fields lock, then it drifts, then it locks the last rotation field.... If i could rez a prim in RL i'd throw it at the monitor

I wish they'd do something about the camera and controls breaking frequently when you take a vehicle above the max rated speed (about 40 m/sec.) I understand higher speeds are "unsupported" but this is totally lame. You have to actually dismount your vehicle and then get back on it or else A) the camera stays broken and B) the keyboard controls are released by the vehicle.
I also wish the client wouldn't slow down to three seconds per frame when it has a bunch of stuff to load. Normally it is more like 20-60 depending on how much is in the area, but sometimes when I'm flying around (even relatively slowly, five or ten m/sec) it just bogs down horribly. It also seems to "stutter" the position of my vehicle - now I'm here, now I'm where I should have been two seconds ago and pointing in another direction, now I'm sort of back on course... then it jumps INSTANTLY to 30FPS or whatever, and everything is normal again. I notice the incoming bandwidth surges to about 800 kilobits when this happens. I guess I could turn it down, but still it seems like the algorithms that decide how much stuff gets transmitted to me are operating between two extremes rather than on a gradient.

I dunno... I find a lot of the bugs these days to be kinda amusing.  Then again, I don't take SL all that seriously. But hey, if they fixed all the bugs, it'd be a lot more boring, I'd think. I mean, just this morning, Abbots airfield disappeared, and was replaced with a mysterious sim called 'The Unknown', which was dark and full of these strange, sci-fi towers. How cool is that?

Prims rescale themselfs

I was trying to do a little building earlier today in Grignano and oddly the prim i resized went back to its original box. Oh how very odd. Ok aside from odd it's been annoying. That and the lag factor has increased to the point that its very difficult to move about as I once did. Please fix, will love ya forever Cath

About 5%-25%
I have rebooted, Reinstalled, Defragged, Rebooted. And its not just me anyone else having issues.. Oh and the sim i am in has 800-1100 FPS

The Random Crack thing, is when after we build something, a couple days later we are walking through an area and suddenly there is a huge crack. Not there before, created by itself.
