So, some people like to jump up in the air 12:00AM New Year, then land in the next year. Some people like to drink so much they need to be told what they did to welcome the New Year. So, what tricks are you all gonna pull to welcome in the New Year?

In Portugal it is customary for people to eat 12 raisins as the church bell tolls 12 times, signaling midnight has come. For each raisin you must repeat to yourself 3 wishes for your next year. Afterwards we all go out in the street or at least the balcony, screaming and banging pots and pans together to make a lot of noise to scare off evil spirits so you can have a good year.
Yes its silly, and no one really believes in wishes or evil spirits but at least its phun :D

Pretty much as I did last year... Camera on shoulder, panning across fireworks and waiting for a director to take my shot.

may sound like a raw deal, but at around 1am the station has a 'post new year bash' at the top of the Riviera hotel with a live band and an open bar that won't close till 7am.

Cheers

Siggy.

Being armtwisted into playing mahjongg with my relatives. And getting my own back by making Irish coffees for everyone while I beat 'em mercilessly at Quiddler. ;)

(Quiddler's a cross between Scrabble and cards)

LAN party. Yup I'm a geek. Last year we had about 8 to 10 people playing at my house and a couple not - until about 3 or 4am. :) WC3 and UT mostly. Trying to see if its even gonna happen this year, but maybe just a few people.

Not sure yet. I'll either be working (bleh!) or at home playing the game. The love of my life is 2,500 miles away right now, so no New Year's kisses for Ghoulie... unless it's from my mom! :p :(
