I'm just waiting for the President of the United States to steal his second election. Seems to be less of a chance of that, this time around, but you never know.... At that point, of course, "pulling together in the name of unity" becomes another way of saying "kissing ass and caving in" -- anyone who does is neither patriotic nor American. But then, I can't think of anyone I've met recently who is patriotic or American. The U.S. is a state of mind, out-of-reach in the real world and certainly unimaginable by most "Americans" who fancy themselves as citizens. Of course, both the Republicans and the Democrats have been stealing elections for a long time. The two-party system has done more to kill democracy in "America" than the availability of corporate money, even. So Kerry was the slightly-lesser of two evils (even though he sold out a long time ago, at least he had better hair and debating skills), and Nader was just plain silly. I will say this about George W. Bush -- he's the nation's premier P.T. Barnum President. Dubyuh is a fine demonstration of the fears of Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, John Adams and other "founding fathers" about mob psychology, lack of civic virtue, apathy, procrastination, and the low level of courage and native intelligence among the voters. Ironically, they wrote a constitution that limited democracy in order to make sure that persons like Dubyuh didn't get elected. You know them, right? -- Hamilton, Madison, Adams -- the Federalists? The spiritual and intellectual forefathers of American conservatism and the modern Republican Party? The ones who wouldn't recognize what Republicanism has mutated into in 2004.... I swear, Republicans are so politically dense. Denser than Democrats with their safe, suburban environmentalism and their don't-come-to-my-neighborhood concern for the poor. Ah, never mind. Go back to eating your Wheaties and sugar. The country will survive. Sort of. And tomorrow I will be a nicer person with a safer, saner attitude. Heh.

Donovan, Bush did not steal this election. The massive turnout of voters voted FOR Bush and NOT Kerry. In the states that Bush won, he won by comfortable margins; even Ohio. He's up by 135,000 votes. Democrats are always hoping on the longshots, because they would rather ignore them.
Oh, and Bush won the popular vote too.

From: Aaron Levy Oh, and Bush won the popular vote too. Does that matter? Because if it does, then Bush is currently an illegitimate president. You can't have it both ways! Hah!

Read it again, Aaron. And as Hank says -- read your response again, too. Cheers. On edit because I don't want to waste another post/space: Oh fer cryin' oudlout. He stole the 2000 election, with the help of the Florida Department of State and the U.S. Supreme Court. I'm saying, "wouldn't it be interesting if he had to steal the 2004 election -- but there doesn't seem to be much chance of that. However, if he does...." and now go back and read the original post. Capische?
