Mockus is brilliant!
I wish we had people like him in the U.S. Politicians here have become so corrupt and even when they are not corrupt, they are stale and continue to vomit out the same old solutions that never solve anything. The American media would crucify someone like him though. ![]() _____________________

Is it just me, or is that protesting mime about to be hit by a bus?
![]() Oh, wait, that's the point. I'm silly. That is pretty clever. _____________________

And no one would call 9-1-1, because they'd think the mime was pretending to be shot. "Look, he's clutching his chest and falling down, ha ha!"
I don't necessarily think all his ideas would work here, but we at least need someone in the White House who thinks like him. Well, let's start with someone who thinks and see where that goes. _____________________

Could you imagine the public reaction to a college professor in a US university mooning his students in order to shut them up and get their attention?
Here in the US we are so hung up on morality that the man would have lost his professorship, probably the university would have been sued, he would have been arrested for indecent exposure and he would have been made a complete mockery of by the media. I hate to say this but the [American] media protray Americans as the most self-absorbed, self-centered, puerile and humorless people in the world. Perhaps we are, but I don't see this on an individual basis, just on a national basis and our most prevalent national depiction is through the eye of the video camera. Behind which, probably ARE the most self-absorbed, self-centered, puerile and humorless people IN America. _____________________

Actually, if he stated afterwards that his mooning his students was an attempt at teaching them some form of sex education, then it would be ok in the public's eye. Now if he dared walk in with an american flag pin on his jacket....well then, there would be hell to pay.
