This is my official announcement of the closing of the Atlas Casino. Linden Labs is taking a new direction in what they want to suppot in the Second Life world. See this thread to see what I'm talking about. I'm excited to see the things that will come of this and support the direction Linden Labs is taking, hoping to be a part of it all myself! However, with new support for new things, old support for old things must be taken away. That is why the Atlas Casino has been ripped down (tucked away neatly inside of my inventory) and the land is now in Linden hands (probably to be made public very soon). I don't want anybody to take this as a negative action. Quite frankly, I'm surprised I wasn't forced to resign as Casino Manager any sooner. Business was slow, Ama's Arcade has the biggest selection of games, I just wasn't fulfilling my job! But that doesn't mean the whole experience was negative. I loved my job and made the Casino at least ten times better than it used to be. On the bright side, now I don't have to deal with all those transaction messages, people telling me stuff is broken, having to mathematically figure out my taxes without all the casino stuff, feel all responsible and whatever. Now I can just go back to what I do best in Second Life. Relaxing! See ya all in-world!

Welcome back Dave. I hope you enjoy your new found leisure. Things are always changing in SL, change is good. I hate to see icons and landmarks leave the world, but it all works out in the end.

Dave always builds such great stuff - some early Lifers remember his plinko game - that I'm excited to see what will come next.

That gives me an idea, why not have a Museum Sim. A sim completely focused on Landmarks from our world, things that have been around for a long time, but had to be taken down for any reason. We could scale all of the builds down, and place them on pedestals. You would have to go through Linden Approval to get your build in the sim, and any dead projects could be moved there for all to enjoy. Let's not let the history of SL die when we move stuff into our inventory. And if the Lindens don't want to take the responsibity of figuring out what goes where, i'm sure theres more than a few residents who would take on this project. Sorry for hijacking this thread, but, it seems like a good idea. It would allows us to keep the history of sl alive, by placing the casino, americana, old lindenworld builds, anything deemed historically important in the growth of SL. Just a thought.
