It's sort of important that people keep tallies like this; any book I've read in college on the Vietnam has data grids on the death tolls over time. Yep, I'm comparing the Vietnam to the war in Iraq... *ducks*

Hey, if it wasn't for Iraq, I wouldn't be here.  (SL that is) I came to SL last year as an escape from reality to get out of my gulf-war-syndrome funk. You can sit in the land of the free and talk about wars all you want, but actually being out there and getting shot at near-daily makes you appreciate the freedom you do have. I'm not talking about wimpy bullets, rather mortars and rockets and "improvised explosive devices". And the Iraqi people personally thanking me all the time for being there was truly heart-warming. You know, it's not just allied forces getting shot at, the Iraqi police and military are suffering casualties, as well. </rant>  ok, back to the sweet carefree Lita you all know. |

We shouldn't be out there to begin with, but if you want to keep tally lets only count the KIA's because half the deaths so far have been from accidents on the battlefield and improperly maintained equipment.
AND for posterities sake you should also post the number of enemy casualties which is in the 10's and 100's of thousands. Most of which were civilian casualties despite what you may try to convince yourself of so you can sleep at night and believe our cause just.
We are breeding more hatred there in this short time than in the last 10 administrations. We need to stop showboating our military as a global police force because that is NOT what its meant for in design.
World Policing actions should be done ONLY through the U.N.
