Know how we can now seperate events with mature content from pg events in the calendar? Well, I was wondering, what constitutes a "mature event"?

Take, for example, this event in the calendar tonight (no offense)

Come to Transylvania and rawkkkkkk with DJ DEMENT!!!!!!
We are havin a contest for BEST NAUGHTY POSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....O.O

The description goes on to detail prizes, including pole dance machines. And it is not in the mature category.

Or how about this one:

Another night, another party... Come down and join us at Club Elite AND WIN BIG BUCKS.

Isn't Club Elite a strip club? Isn't that mature content? I just want a clear definition.

I will resist the urge to comment on Club Elite and just try to answer what you are asking. Admittedly, any event that is of a subject matter or could contain behavior that is not appropriate for a PG sim (nudity, sexual content, etc..) should be labelled as a mature event. Hosting an event in an M sim does not automatically make it a mature event - though I don't think you can host mature events in a PG sim without danger of running afoul of the TOS.

For example, when I taught a class in Federal, I did not label it as a mature event. However, when I held Pendari's birthday party at my hotel, I did mark it as mature, since the odds of Pendari ending up naked dancing on something was quite high. I suppose it is left up to interpretation, but I think it is pretty clear what a mature event is (slave auctions, bondage, adult club events, etc.). I still disagree with needing this designation, but since it does exist, it should be used correctly. I changed my mind about commenting on Club Elite - as the club does contain sexual content, any event there should be labelled Mature, as should any event in a similar venue.

If it's not marked as mature, simply contact a Linden and point it out. They'll change and/or remove it, as necessary.

Has LL said they'd do this? If so, when/where?

I think since Mature sims allow mature behavior, all events in Mature sims should be marked "mature". Perhaps we need a more robust event tagging system, including "class", "regular event", "mature", and "xxx".

Haney has said in the past, and I think it's on the Announcement's forum, that even if you have a "M" event -- the wording must remain PG.

Meaning, no sex; nothing that could make a person think of sex in anyway, shape or form.

:D

So, my Jaron Lanier Appreciation Events would have to be mature, then, because lets face it - how can you look at him and not think of sex? <grin>

Yes, on the forums, the last time someone "complained".
