Am I understanding this right? in order to have events advertised i have to buy a slot from E-bay? Linden is taking away ways to make in game currency and creating new ways to take our RL money? some please Clarify and correct me if I'm wrong.. thanks.

My understanding is that you've got things a little mixed up here (as does at least 50% of the community right now). You can still list events just like before. What has gone to Ebay (temporarily, mind you) is the Top Picks. That's it.
