Airport Icons on the map?

In reading and thinking about the 'Seeking Airports' thread, it dawned on me that in using our map, we have to way to see where an airport is.

Maybe we could add a little plane icon to the map for airports that are IW?

Thanks Moleculor.. I thought about posting it there, but was trying to open it up to conversation with folks to open up pro's/con's to the idea. But, I guess it could be done over there too. heh.

Your original idea. I'm just taking it and running with it. I'm not good with originality, but I'm GREAT with making something grander.

First we get airports, then bars, clubs, shopping outlets, gardens, waterfalls, etc, forever.

It might be a cool idea as long as it is a choice. Better yet, the FIND feature could dot the map with the locations if you choose to do so.

Yeah, checkboxes for on/off displays would be cool. Too many icons would make the map an unreadable nightmare. Heck, zoomed out it can be pretty hard to see right now, and it only gets bigger!

Maybe a "travel to random area" command would be fun too, to explore somewhere you may have never been before.

Airports are magical places. But like Loki touched on, what's next? If I could live out one fantasy, it would be to live part of my Second Life in a hotel by an airport, reading cyberpunk about a world within a world, staring out at the window at peeps passing by, and chomping on virtual watermelons before taking flights to other parts of the metaverse. That would r0x0r so hard it would be soft!

I can't wait to see a fully operational baggage terminal that pumps luggage out. My neon suitcase will be in there for sure on the carousel!
