Imagine this: It's 2004, and someone is going around alternately saying ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US and WASSSAAAAAAP!!! every single day. Or maybe wearing parachute pants or exhibiting some other totally played out fad. This is the root of the PATHOLOGICAL RAGE I feel whenever people mention hippos.

I never understood the hippo thing, and I believe I've been here long enough to have a better-than-average perspective. It's to the point where when someone mentions hippos in any context, I think they're just doing it to sound like "one of the gang," apparently oblivious to the fact that the already-stale and unoriginal joke wore out eons ago. I mean, gag me with a spoon.  -JMonde
