i may the only person that hasn't complained about 1.2 yet because i:

frankly don't mind paying the equivilant of $14 a month for my annual membership plus land fees and

already lived in olive, so prim limits didn't bother me.

but here i go. this extension is horribly inconvenient and unfair to those of us who have worked and planned and are ready to either claim pending land or release overages or such. how many more weeks are we going to have to live in this conundrum of wondering what's coming next?

the announcementment is made. it's too late now. and i'm sure that the lindens are just trying to be nice about all this. but what we need is for things to settle down and become whatever "normal" is going to be for a while so we can all breathe a little.

Yeah, I get that some people may want more time, but I personaly just want it to happen already. Theres some pending land around that I can't wait to be released for various reasons.

A theory is that they said alot of stuff would happen before the 12th, while alot did, not everything did, maybe the lindens aren't ready for it, so they're pushing it back.

Also they didn't give us another date, just "a week or so". So now we have NO idea when this will happen. Ugh, lets just do it and get it over with!

But, Khamon, that would help us developers who actually want to do something cool. The Lindens can't allow that. That would be wrong.

I agree. As resistant as I am to 1.2, drop the freaking axe already and let us move on.

I bet they're still trying to figure out how group land will be handled.

I may not be a land holder but I think some kind of poll should be errected quickly, I'm guessing the majority would want the axe droped as Christiano said and let us all start getting used to the new system. The longer the delay the harder the transition will be in the end.

i'm thinking that too jellin.

at this point, i've played longer under 1.2 than i had under 1.1. i had figured out the old economy enough to begin planning my trek to mogulhood. i still have absolutley no idea how to plan now. i was looking forward to monday because everything (i assumed group code as well) would finally be in place. now i not only know that it won't, i don't know when it will.

did i say that right?

That's wonderful for you. Unfortunately, for a lot of us, we also have planned this out, but they have not implemented group land or prim allowance 'transferrance' yet. So we're screwed.

If they were to go ahead and force this without finishing group land and the allowance deeding/transfer, you'd see a whole lot of builds go up in smoke.

Doing this would destroy about 4 months of our hard work in less than a day, with no possible way to recover.

So uh, no, i'm going to have to vote against this particular request.

i'm not pushing for the 12th si. that's already dead. i suppose at this point i just want a deadline. of course anything they say now can't be believed. so never mind. i suppose the new atmosphere really amounts to "anything may change at any time so make your plans accordingly."

my original post was made still thinking that the group code was going to be implemented monday as well. it's part of our plan also. actually, that may not have been the case to begin with.

teehee, and we all know how feasible planning for all possibilities occuring at any point in time is. ;)

This is a bad move
01-08-2004 01:23
Although a newcomer with Lifetime, 2 weeks b4 xmas, I own land and I think this extension is bad idea. We all knew the date, and I for one have been waiting for the clear up anxiously as my home area is full of old unused parcels scraps, and defunct players land, and plots not claimed yet after the new version. Without these being cleared up, I am sitting on the hatefully low prim limit unable to continue my house build, or acquire any more sensible land in my Sim. Dragging this out is a bad move, I hate when companies act definitely then go all wishy washy and slam open ended variable in. Now we have NO IDEA what's happening, or when.

Lindens.... a 7 day or 1o day extension, IF YOU HAVE to... but NOT OPEN ENDED please !!!

Please lets get on with it so we can move on.
