Is it my imagination, or have the Lindens become much quieter lately in terms of upcoming features, statuses, etc? It seems they have remained quiet on any new sims coming online even though we have members getting into virtual fist fights on the boards, we have 6 vehicle sims and 2 amusement park sims (not to mention a handful of other sims that we are not able to build in) that are not being used anywhere close to their potential (or at all).
Since I have been playing, I have been used to the rather common presence of the Lindens, and they seem to be in a quiet period. Prior to 1.1, there were feature previews, even when this stuff was several months away - those feature previews excited me and I checked on them regularly. Nothing has been updated at all now, including the last developer journal from October - even the newsletter seems to have slowed. Perhaps this is part of the normal cycle of things, but it seems there has been a large influx of new players over the past month or two, and at the same time, I have noticed a less vocal Linden presence. Any thoughts? Don't get me wrong, even in this "quiet" period they are more vocal than any company I have seen, I have just noticed the change.

i'm too new to know what's normal. i have noticed that the first coule of weeks i was here, the lindens posted quite a bit. they haven't the past couple of weeks.
maybe they're working very hard to release something new!
i have seen them browsing the forums every day so i'm sure they're keeping up with our demands er suggestions um requests.

It's all a conspiracy. I think LL is cutting down on "residential sims" because most are usually empty. People build crap and then leave it abandoned, going somewhere else to hang out and never setting foot there again. Noobs complain that the world is too empty and so IIRC a couple months ago LL decided they wanted to achieve a certain usage level. Hey, we got Olive as a new mature area and I remember reading in the forums that there will be two new M sims connecting it to chartreuse.

it's true. i fly over most sims and see very very very few avs but 100% usage by huge primy (how can i say this nicely) thingys. the exceptions are the mature sims and the training areas such as stage 4.
olive is very nice. i'm still particularly overwhelmed at how pretty the northwest corner is. some of the other mature sims, hawthorne for instance, are also quite lovely. the people there have done a fantastic job building tastefully designed structures into and around the natural landscape. but their prim usage is almost off the scale.
i believe it would serve LL very well to add a few mature, olive type sims.
