i know that there are a few of you out there that get frustrated with sl being down, or delays logging in, ect... but let me just put things in perspective a bit for you...<strugglin with right words, putting thoughts into print ect so excuse me ahead of time...>
been struggling a while with real life, at times wanting to kill myself, at other times just in so much pain ive just cut my arm <im a cutter> Weds i left my rl husband..for the most part it has been an amicable split...but havent dealt with poison from either side family wise yet...we have a 3 year old...for now ive had to leave him with his father and it breaks my heart every day i dont get to see him. Ive made a decision to stop speaking with my family because everything they say to me is hurtful and I couldnt go on

so im starting over...imagine if you would a crash in sl so bad you lose all your friends, your inventory your house, your land, your vehicles...that is what i am now dealing with in rl. Im starting over with basically NOTHING.
I want to thank the people in sl that have been there for me when i needed them the most...the kind words and the shoulder to cry on...Onsund knox, billy grace, Paolo Portocarrero, my iw family hugs all of you...its going to be awhile for me til i can see a positive outcome in life, but i know it will come eventually. thanks.

Madiera,

I'm sorry for all the pain you're going through in your life right now. If it helps at all, I had a very similar experience, during the process of which I lost almost everything dear to me, and everything I considered important to my life. I know what you mean when you say you're really having to 'start over'. Please try to think positively; it DOES get better with time. And one positive thing you can think about right now is what a rare opportunity it is to be able to be a 'new you'. Some people get so locked into their world that they are stuck with things they don't like about themselves, you have the chance to reinvent who you are and how you relate to the world.

I wish you the very best of luck.

Wow, Taco. We share even more in common than I had previously thought. Lost everything, myself, in the tech bust of 2002. It was also about that time that I finally came to terms with my sexual orientation, as well. What the hell? Go for broke, I always say. :D

Mum, stay strong. You have one of the biggest hearts I've ever encountered. You also have drive, determination and leadership qualities. Don't lose heart. Taco's right: Give it time. We are here for you.

I second what Taco said. Time is a great healer, it's just that it seems to pass so much more slowly when you are in pain. When the minutes feel like hours, hang in there my dear, they will pass.

I called it "the black hole".... the depression after divorce. It hurts like hell, but you will beat it, and you'll come out of it a stronger person than you were before. In the meantime you have a lot of people in your corner! *hug*

What Chameleon says is true. After a while, you will realize you are doing the right thing and wonder why you didn't do it sooner. The worse part is the way the mind blurs the bad memories and makes the good ones seems so much better when logically you know it wasn't that way.

Good luck, hon.

The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better?
