Crash scripts, not security scripts.

I've recently noticed a trend in the way security scripts operate: They teleport the agent home.

Unfortunatly, instead of just using this function once, these kind of scripts tend to fire this function MULTIPLE times in a second, usually by just putting it in the sensor() event.

This is a problem. The result is, you get a teleport start unexpectedly. Then another one starts while you are allready teleporting. And another, and another - until your agent finally logs out of the sim.

In 85% of the cases, this ment to me one of the following 2 things:
1)I have lost connection to SecondLife. Avatar and grid disappearing, forcing me to completly relog.
2)My SecondLife client crashed completly.

The reactions of this kind of script makers varied from "So?" to "Just fly around the parcel" (very easy to do the first time this happens without a warning, especialy when you get teleported many sims away in a sudden fashion, isnt it).

People - if you HAVE to be as obnoxious as to use or make a teleport agent security script, make it teleport ONCE. You dont HAVE to crash the "offender" who just happened to wonder over your parcel for 0.2 seconds on their way to another location.

Hee! good guess Foxy, but no, not just you. :D

Lets just say that what drove me to post this post was the fact that the "we own a script that crash ya!" club have grown immensly.

Wonder how many people who own these scripts actualy read the forums though?

I'd say, Abuse Report them, include in the abuse report that scripts like this will not only turn off people from exploring the beautifull world of Second Life, but also may turn off new users.

I've had this happen one or two times, found it extremely annoying, and it does deter me from going anywhere slightly. Why attempt to explore if 1/5 parcels in SL have this kind of thing?

Sure its "your plot" but it prevents clear passing of users, something LL is obviously against (from the ban-land height, and from previouse CS statements).

Since I'm in the process of writing two simple scripts that use the TeleportHome function, I can use this sort of "feedback".

Why have these obnoxious and frustrating scripts??

I've had it happen to me I love to explore have found some amazing things ..

A park that I explored for hours finding all the little boxes (Yay MsJackal)

Why the heck have that frelling script dump/teleport your target away.

Just because I was unfortunate enough to fly in your airspace.

Hell i'm just passing thru for goodness sakes. What could you possibly have that needs that much protection ?

I have to agree with Ashlynne. I don't care what you have on your land I usually fly high enough out of courtesy anyway that I wouldn't see anything. Would you rather I flew right over and didn't bug you, or have to IM you and bug you because I lost my shuttlecraft cause I was TPed home and your land is set to no autoreturn?
