There is a puppy mill in Wisconson up for sale. I've heard it is the 2nd largest in the US (600 females "in production";). A group of people have formed a Yahoo! group called Puppymill Purchase Coalition to try to purchase this puppy mill and make it a rescue operation. I heard about it on pugs.com forum under Not Pug Stuff and petfinder.com under Animal Community.

Yes they are. I know there are a lot of animal lovers on this site, and I was hoping to bring some awareness to what these people are trying to do. They are going to need all the help they can get.

Same here.
I'm also impressed they they're playing nice (as oppossed to vandalizing the place, for example).

To get on my soapbox for a sec, I wish more people knew that a dog raised in a livestock environment usually makes a bad housepet. Even if the farm is relativly humane (and plenty of them are horrid), the result tends to be a poorly socialized animal with behavior problems.

I have rescued pugs and work with Southeast Pug Rescue and I somehow still get surprised at the horrible, horrible things that people do to pugs and other dogs. :mad:
