Why am I naked?!

I am having trouble organizing my clothing and attachments. It seems like whenever I drag a folder onto myself, if it contains clothing, then my attachements (hair, jewlery, etc.) are automatically detached. On the other hand, and to more embarrasing effect, if my folder contains only my hair attachments, when I drag the folder onto myself, my clothes disappear. I have tried to create a folder using the "Make Outfit" button, and deselecting items I don't want impacted, but it doesn't seem to help.

I always seem to be getting naked in the most inappropriate places.

Can anybody offer any wardrobe management tips?

It sounds to me like your attachments are no copy, so when you create a new folder, they move to the last folder you created each time. What I have done to get around this is stripped down to just my "attachments" and created an outfit named attachments. When I dress, I first drag the clothes folder onto my avatar and then drag the attachments folder onto my avatar.

I hope this helps.

When you drag a whole folder onto yourself, it assumes you want to wear only what's in that folder, so you'll need to put both your clothing and your attachments into the same folder.

You can also put on individual items, mixing and matching from different folders, and other items won't disappear in the process.

It's hard to make outfit folders because a lot of clothing items are No Copy. I guess it would be possible, but an item could only be in one outfit.

SL needs better permissions, like having transfer and copy-for-yourself only. As in, if you give away one copy, all your copies are deleted.

Well, I can help, but you're going to need to take pictures in order for me to diagnose the problem. You can post them here, in a private message, or send them to me via SL or email.
