Who saw the Matrix here? How was it?

I can't believe it's over already, they're JUST SO GOOD! Oh, and no spoilers please :)

I thought it was good, I really liked it. There was the part where ... and then they ... only he .... well yeah.

One of my friends I was with didn't like it, I didn't think it was as good as the first but I thought it was better than the second, Alek said she thought the second minus the rave was better than the third. My order for Best to Worst of Matrix list is 1, Animatrix, 3, 2.

Oh and there was this one part where ...
But in the end ....

Yeah.

Matrix sucked. They should have left it at the first one, or at least publically torture the people who ruined it.

This doesn't give anything away, but knowing it ahead of time may increase your enjoyment of the third movie greatly: The last thing you see is a sunrise. Maybe real, maybe virtual, maybe a dream... I won't give away details. But that's unimportant. The Sunrise is unimportant. It's a STUPID last image to end the series with. It's completely out of character. When they get to the last scene, just close your eyes. You'll probably walk away with a better feeling about the movie.

I'd rank the movies in the same order that they were made, with the first being the best. That one had a concrete and solid plot. the second plot seems a bit wishy-washy. The third... Well the third can really only be called a cop-out. Everyone will walk away thinking "*I* could have come up with a better ending than that!" (And I'm not just talking about the sunrise here...)

On that note... I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It just wasn't as good as the others, wasn't as good as it could have been, and wasn't as good as I was expecting.

Well a few things about the movie won't make ya too happy, but I won't go into it either. I was a little disappointed after first having to pay 6 bucks for parking(before 11) then the ticket price was jacked up for the movie($7) then they had about 15 previews) and then well lets just say the curse that they say can happen to movies in a trilogy. Plus all the lack luster reviews of the movie don't help either, but when you get into the movie and watch it through, you do start to think, WOW then hmmmm, then OH, then hmmmm, then WOW WOW, then (I wish I had something to drink) then WOW WOW WOW, then Hmmmmm, then AWWWW, then What the? then Hmmmmm, then WHAT? then Huh? then Dang, then Oh pretty but why? That is about my thinking I could say about the movie. But in other words I will probably get this one too when it comes out on DVD, but if I had known what I know now, waiting for the DVD will cost my just as much as it did to go see the movie in the first place.

I haven't seen it yet but there will be more. They aren't done milking that cow. As long as they don't show Keanu's bare butt I think it will be as good if not better than the 2nd one. Nothing beats the 1st one though :)

Yeah I read somewhere that the dock scene costed $60 million alone. That's a lot of cash to spend on one scene in a movie!

Anyways, I haven't seen it but the overall message I get from people who saw it said that it's a pretty good movie and has some really nice parts to it, but the end is a little "stupid" as some people have put it.

Saturday, I make my own personal comment on it when I go see it (for my birthday). It better be good for the $50 bucks I'm paying to see it on IMAX :p

Ama already posted my thoughts on it. Liked 1, Animatrix/2 (tie or something, enjoyed both a lot), then 3, but 3 was still worth watching IMO.

The main thing I thought of after it was over was this: Did they leave it wide open for another or what?! :D

This is what happened to the Matrix Trilogy(Spoilers maybe? I dunno).

"The Matrix" comes out, becomes a phenominal hit, almost considered a cult classic due to how many fanatics it earned w/o expectation.

"The Matrix: Reloaded" comes out, digs into your brain with a huge amount of random philosophical questions, questions about the nature of the matrix itself, and gigantic action scenes never seen before.

Larry Wachowski becomes a woman.

"The Matrix: Revolutions" comes out, does a few goofy, however necessary, things. Ends basically the way I personally expected it to end (because I'm the kinda guy who would go ALL OUT at the end of a trilogy). Shows that live-action DBZ type fighting is actually possible and incredibly freakin' cool!!!

Now: MMORPG comes out with, most likely, a bajillion other spin-off things, making "The Matrix Trilogy" into one of the biggest cash cows in history, no doubtedly ranking up there with Star Wars.

*sigh* do you see where things sorta broke? I don't know, it might not be obvious...

DBZ sucks dood :)
I kinda thought it looked like DBZ as well. I kept wondering why the heck they didnt throw any fireballs at each other. I mean, come on, if you can hack the matrix to stop bullets and shit, you should be able to shoot some DBZish fireballs!
I agree that it had way cool special effects, but jeez, I like some meat with my CGI. I guess I'm too used to european movies.

The story line may not have been as effective or satisfying as the first one but everything that has a beginning must have an end. The amazing part of this movie is that the special effects are just awesome. For anyone to be able to create this movie is nothing less than astounding. I can't believe that people are bashing it as boring and going ho-hum. Maybe you are going to the wrong theater. I go where there is a true 70mm screen and a killer Sony SDSS sound system and I was blown away by this visual and audio treat. I planned to go see it in IMAX but that is an hour away through horrendous traffic and it was raining hard last night and I didn't want to deal with that . I think you will find it worthwhile Darwin.

Find a quality theater (not one of those shoebox twins) and let your eyes and ears throw a party for your head.

I think the whole point of my posts was to state that yeah, the effects are cool, state of the art CGI and all, but I dont really go to the movies to see special effects, and couldnt care less whether a good movie has them or not.
It's a matter of personal taste I suppose. I'm not too fond of first-person-shooter games either, even though they push the bleeding edge of computer graphics, there isnt much to do in them aside from going around in circles looking for stuff to kill. I prefer games that make me think.
Which is why I came to SL :)

I saw Matrix II at SL Media. It seemed a little short in plot and character development, but that's probably just me.
