And the statue was the movie version of the older brother in Wierd Science, when he hit on the lady.
Additionally, Jaba The Hutt was first mentioned in Star Wars 4: A New Hope (first movie)
By the movie's story line, he was a child in movie 1, but son of an already wealthy crime family.
