The NBA season officially started earlier this week. That means another joyful season of fantasy basketball. I've been doing this for over 10 years, and finally won last year with the help of the MVP.

Here's what I got this year:

Lebron James (SF Cleveland) - Man child. 2nd season after his hyped up rookie of the year season. Extremely gifted athlete with excellent leadership, court vision, and basketball IQ

Steve Francis (PG Orlando) - Was in a package deal trade that sent him from Houston to Orlando. Will put up big numbers this season since he can run freely now.

Zach Randolph (PF Portland) - Most improved player of the year last year. Will continue the trend since Portland has commited to him as the franchise player.

Pau Gasol (C/PF Memphis) - 7' power forward from Spain. He is the man in Memphis and will show dedication to Memphis. Recently got this contract extended.

Theo Ratliff (C/PF Portland) - Blocks blocks blocks. Led this league in blocks last year. May get the defensive player of the year nod if he stays healthy.

Dwight Howard (PF Orlando) - 18/19 year old. This past Summer's #1 overall draft pick. At 6'11 240, he is ready for the NBA. Extremely atheletic. Will get rookie of the year honors.

Drew Gooden (PF Cleveland) - Traded to the Cav's from Orlando. Cav's needed a new power forward after Carlos Boozer bailed to Utah. Still young and growing as a player. Will put up numbers doing the dirty work while taking advantage of Lebron James passing the ball to him.

Jerry Stackhouse (F/G Dallas) - Traded from Atlanta. Excellent scorer past his prime. Will contribute for Dallas off the bench.

Luol Deng - (G/F Chicago) - This past summer's #7 draft pick. Excellent basketball IQ. Part of the dinka tribe who produces the tallest people in the world. Will start at small forward. Big question mark on his numbers this year. But I like him.

Andre Iguodala - (G/F Philly) - This past summer's #9 draft pick. He can do it all. Extremely athetic. Can shoot, pass, defend. Led Arizona in assists last year. Will complement Allen Iverson well. Appeases to Jim O'Brien's defensive mentality.

Wally Szczeriak - (G/F Minnesota) - Excellent shooter. Defensive liability. I may end up dropping him soon since he may be limited in his minutes.

James Posey - (G/F Memphis) - One of the key players to Memphis. Hussle player who can do everything well.

Jimmy Jackson - (G/F Houston) - I really don't like this player but he was available in the free agents list after the draft was over. He will be starting in Houston and will hopefully fill the stat sheet with 3 pointers.

Will I win? No. I like my team though and look forward to see what they do.

Anyone else doing fantasy basketball? Post your team!

You have some good numbers ppl there.

Pau Gasol, Lebron, and Zach usually fill stat sheets nicely.

Steve should shoot 50 times a game in Orlando. Dwight is no Garnett so it'll take him a year or two and Hill is a guessing game. So they will be terrible but Stevie Franchise is gonna score bunches lol good thing Field goal % doesn't count against you.

Stackhouse's price was probably inflated. He will be very limited this year.

If Jimmy is starting in Houston then that's a steal. He put up some decent numbers as a ultility player bouncing around the league. If he can stay healthy you might get some good stats from him.

Monitor the Latrell situation. He's the most hated man in basketball right now and quickly becoming an embarrassment for Minnesota. They may deal him. If they do Wally's stock will soar.

I love Posey's play but not sure about his Fantasy value, but at this point on your roster i'm assuming your just filling spots lol.

I like the team. There are guys there in situations to do some real damage this year. Specially Franchise.

D Howard will come in slowly but he will play 30 min a game. Depends whether he wants to take over a game or not. So far, he's doing the little things which is good.

I picked up Stackhouse after someone dropped him. He was going to start the season hurt but it looks like he's ok and Nellie is giving him minutes.

That's about right for Jimmy.

If Spree ends up getting traded then ya Wally will play more but at the moment, Flip still needs to play Trent Hassell for defensive purposes.

Posey was a key piece for my fantasy team last year but he's coming in injured this year. I just dropped him for the Andres Nocioni from Argentina. He was the second best player behind Ginoboli in this past Summer's gold winning Olympic team. Looks like he's fitting right in playing with or swapping spots with Deng on the Bulls.

I'm liking this team too. Potential is the best word I can describe it.
I still need more assists though. Hopefully I can work a trade for a decent PG like white chocolate.
