I am a big lover of lindenworld. Its home to a little attraction of mine, however I was going over my in game finances and the situation looks untenable(I think thats a word). Ok I'm a lifer but most people arn't, and a fullsized lindenworld lot is 1296m^2. So that means either L$16,000/month and a good chunk of your "free" land, or an extra $8/month. So basicly they only way holding such a plot that would make sence is to either be a grandfathered in Lifer and put a third of your land there or open a casino there. Otherwise you just can't make enough from running it to cover the cost of owning it.
The only hope, I guess, is the promise of smaller lots to be availible but still, even at half the size the possibilites for profit are very small indeed.

I was a little surprised they said LW would be charged against land. In the begining they said LW land wouldn't be taxed, so I assumed it wouldn't in 1.2. I think this will stunt the growth and creativity in LW if only a little bit. I do not think LW plots should count against your land usage or should be taxed as they said in the begining they wouldn't, and really the idea as itself shouldn't allow it. Wouldn't be surprised if LW went empty after 1.2 or if the idea itself was scrapped.

If Lindenworld plots count as part of a players overall land cap I think we should be able to sell items from it. As it is now the land is free - but we cannot sell items.

This would help.

Yeah selling stuff would help offset the cost. But still given the cost of maintaining land with L$ is still very high $10,000 a month minimum, you would need to sell alot of stuff just to keep your head above water. And then it would probably be more cost effective to just have a stall in the Shopping sim to the south. I think for maximum creativity in Lindenworld the land should be tax free, this would create a really big incentive to get in and stay in, all the while providing the mythical "interactive experience". Basicly post 1.2 lindenworld is really less attractive than it is now, and look at how barren it is.
