Fed up and not going to take anymore

Let me start by saying I know that I am not perfect, and I even know that I am way to serious at times. Having said that however I would like to discuss some disturbing behavior I have noticed in our little world lately.
Let’s pretend for a moment that you have just come home from a long day at work. You get a cold drink slip in to your PJs and settle in to your favorite chair to listen to some nice relaxing tunes. Then let’s say that you neighbor, not your next-door neighbor nope the guy who lives a block away decides it’s time to throw an impromptu party. His music is playing full blast his friends are sitting in his yard yelling obscenities at the top of their lungs, and you hear it all a very nice scene indeed. Ok you say to yourself I will go over and have a chat with him. He does not come out to talk to you however, he sends his drunk friends while he hides inside behind a locked door. All right then you will try to reason with him through the door. You talk about the loud music and the vulgarity being shouted. Your neighbor comes up with a very logical excuse for both situations. One it’s not him yelling the vulgar things and he can’t stop his friends. Two his stereo is broken and he has to play it that loud but hey, if you are willing to pay him $300 he will buy a new stereo and play his music lower. Now let’s not forget your neighbors friends their argument is even more intelligent “hey it’s a free world dude”…….””why don’t you loosen up can’t ya just have fun”.
This story seems ludicrous but it happened to me tonight. After working several hours on my house, I sat down in my newly finished living room to listen to music. However, my neighbors near the lonely island had other plans. First, we got to hear “was up” at record decibels, repeated about 50 times. Then recordings from what I can only figure was a hooker of some type promising “me love you long time” then a young man talking about urination, and what I believe was Burgess Meredith listing several euphemisms for sex. When I went over to talk to these kind folks, I met with a ton of abuse. I was told if I pay them 300 bucks, they would re sample their sounds and play them lower. It was also suggested if I don’t like how ghetto (and I am using their words) they are making the area I should just move. I was also told it’s a free world they can do what they want. Let me remind you I live in Welsh a PG sim.
All this raises a question or 2 for me. 1. since when do we have to pay people to act respectful? 2. isn’t there an area in SL heck several areas where these things are not only accepted they are expected? 3. The lonely island has always been a nice area so what are we just let it go to pot now because bullies move in.
Now most people in SL that know me know I don’t like to fight. I am a pretty peaceful sort. I mean look at my behavior rating. I just want to live in peace. I thought that was what this whole thing was about. I am finding out however I was wrong. It seems that out here or in there humans are still humans. There is always going to be that group that thinks if they yell louder use force and ignore the rules they can get away with it. And they just might.
Let me tell you one thing though I will not pay to be abused. I had stayed away for a while. I was very upset when a war game was opened up right next to my house. I decided to buck up however and moved I spent time and money building my new place only to have the abuse land in my lap again. If this is, what it is going to be like and I have no protection then bye bye. II you moved to a town like this you would not stay long.
Now for you mental giants that are going to come back at me with the comments about whining, and my orientation…GO FOR IT BRIGHT BOY. And please come up with something more intelligent than “hey just play the game dude”.
People seem to think that internet means anonymous and that seems to mean you can do anything you want and get away with it. You might just for a while. It will catch up to you. The Lindens will catch on soon enough.
I just don’t understand why some guys like my neighbor get their oh so small yayas off being rude to others. My lord what a waste of human space.
Well that my rant sorry to offend those that it offends, but you know what even the nice guys eventually get fed up with punks.

OMG, Thai? Is this just a repost of the huge thread in the General Discussions Forum?

Even though I am friends with both Roo, Realtime, and some others who may not like you, I haven't considered you to be as much of a complainer, liar, pest, and problem-maker that some people have made you out to be. I like your enthusiasm for the game and some of what you have tried to do here.

But reposting a thread in a different section of the forum, a few days after posting it in the General Discussion area? Any particular reason for doing this? Not getting a favorable response?

That is something I consider to be the sign of someone who has no respect for other people. Its like a child who runs and talks to their Mother if their Dad won't buy them that new toy. Now your just trying to whine till you get things your way.

My suggestion, drop this whole thing altogether. And this goes for everyone else involved. People should respect the rights and property of others, this also includes not making an issue bigger then it really is.

If this problem happens again, bring it up with the SL police and the moderators, don't post another page long rant only to repost it in another section of the forums.

I saw them both too and it does seem rather childish to post it twice. I would only say this. The difference between this game and life is, noone is holding a gun to your head making you logon to the game. I can see maybe complaining in real life about something like this, but in a game. It's just really really goofy. Realtime Rogers is a cool dude, I hung out with him and his friends and they're all cool. Obviously we must be dealing with a child here. I hear annoying sounds and music all the time, guess what I do? I turn the volume down, or simply turn the game volume in preference down. You are complaining about something that can be dealt with logically by a few simple mouse clicks. Oh god forbid you actually go out of your own way to help yourself deal with your problems. I say just deal with it or don't play the game if it really bothers you that much. Anyways if people wanna know how to turn their wave sounds down in preferences look at the UI volume slider in sounds tab and turn this all the way left and it will only play the sound within about a few avatar paces.

Ok just to clear this up guys.

I dont hate Thai, infact I realy tried several times to oppologize for my first post (kinda pissed at the time) but every time I approch Thai in game, I get totaly ignored, and she will not even give me the time of day...... just to point out this problem orrigonaly started with another person, I was trying to help mediate beacuse this person was being very offensive, although they had good right to be pissed... they still were not helping.
So I tried to offer logical solutions to the problem. But Thai did not and still does not want to Fix the problem or the relationships, which I have tried to do probly about 10 times since that day (No Joke). So Thai if you read this "Im sorry about gettin pissy on you, and I would like to be hommies with you so the ball is and has been in your court. Try to be openminded like you say you are and IM me and we can talk about this.

Lighten up. Turn off your computer, go outside, water your stuff.

Keep in mind, regardless of what anyone says... it's just a game. There! I said it. It's a game.
