I just bought my first land. Worked on my house for a few hours. Deleted it on accident. /cry :'(

I did learn a lesson though. Dont link complicated objects to your house so you can move the whole thing.

How did you delete it? All might not be lost. Look in your Trash folder. Put it into date order and rez the last thing from there.

If it wasnt linked, rez the last few things :)

If it isnt there, look in your lost and found folder and do the same. If it isnt there, look in your 'objects' folder and do the same.

That oughta cover the possibilities :)

In theory, it shouldn't actually be gone for good. But it might be a pain in the ass to put back together if it wasnt linked.

Look in your trash can - it should be there just restore then pop it back out onto the ground.

I all too often 'Take" my whole house and then have to place it carefully back out.

Well, the chunk I deleted was linked... There were a couple of floor tiles that I had unlinked.

This would be so great if it's true... THANKSOMUCH

That sucks, but it could be a lot worse. At least it was only a couple of hours instead of days/weeks/months. I have lost almost everything I have built in SL and I can give you some pointers for the next time.

(1)Don't build in sandboxes unless you keep copies in your inventory, but even then, I wouldnt suggest building as they really aren't good environments to work in.

(2)Keep as much of your build linked as possible, and keep well-named copies of all the pieces.

(3)Make sure your new land doesn't have auto-delete all objects on.

Here's a tip. Once you have your house finished, linked and in place, take a note of the XYZ location coordinates, put them on a notecard, and place the notecard in the Contents tab.

That way, if you move it, take it or "put" it in Trash ;) you can quickly relocate it back to where it should be.

Wiggle, I need to fly over to see how construction is coming along! Glad you're excited about your new land.

It was coming along pretty well before I deleted it...

Still experamenting with things, but I think it'll be neat when I'm done.
