How do you find and contact friends inworld?

I use the big map alot when wanting to know if someone is online or not. I use it before I go to the IM screen. Some people are in constant contact through outside messenger services like skype and yahoo and what not. In the 1.6 the calling card list will NOT be listed on the big map and this is a disappointment for me. I also have disabled the notification when someone comes online because my calling card list is just to big. Thank gawd the IMs still have the listing of all calling cards. I am hoping that they don't get rid of that.

The IM and and calling cards are too clunky to use. I find it faster to press CTRL+F and type their name.

I use Find almost exclusively. It's fast and it doesn't matter if I have their card or not.

i use the im window first. then i use find. the only thing i use calling cards for anymore is to im groups of people some of whom are offline and to conference. thank you pituca chang for teaching me how to conferenace im. it's so cool.

I have eliminated the problem of determining the optimum method of locating existing friends by having a personality that causes all methods to yield a a search and contact time of zero.

well lemme see, if i post pituca's instructions to m,e that'll be a tos violation for posting inworld chat made worse by the fact that it'll be paraphrased. i've already put my neck on the line by mentioning her name. twice!

plus, if she's filed any kind of copyright on the instructions, i'll be breaking actual laws and may end up owing several thousand dollars in fines and penalties.

actually, i'm vieing for jaord's title of Most Hate-Filled an Bile Spewing but i'm not doing a very good job am i.

put the cards you want to conference in a folder. if you drag them from one inventory window to another, they will copy; so you can have copies of cards in several different folders. then just right click on the folder to open a menu which lists options to im everyone (including people offline) and to open a conference im window.

I IM them or otherwise by using Find actualy, It just goes quicker to hit Ctrl+F click People (unless its already open) and type in a name than going to my inventory for some reason.

I use a variety of methods. Usually, I'm guided by the mysterious force known to me as rippleshock, and find myself in good company when I am caught up like an everycatbot in the middle of extraordinary events! So it mostly just... comes to me.

I use the map, then IM.

I concentrate on their names and try to contact them telepathically.

So far, no responses.

They're not pulling card contacts on the Map anymore? O_O What the Hell..

I almost never use the IM window to see who's on, because I have, like, 30291734982564 Groups up on the top to scroll down through. That or 15. Whatever.

I am always looking to see where my friends are.. I tend not to IM people at all and just sorta show up where they are. Especially if they're alone.
