Would you be upset?

I dunno, maybe I am over reacting... but I am pretty upset about this...

Awhile back I was in a group that did events and such for other people... while in that group I had made some animations and such for the group... now that I have left the group, they continue to use my work... which is fine, I have no problem with that... BUT I have been contacted by a few players that they had admired the work and the person that runs this group, refused to tell them where the work came from... so they wanted to know if I was able to "mimic" the work so they could use it for thier "event" ... I said well.. pictures would help... so they send me some pictures... and what do you know... IT WAS MY WORK!
So now, not only am I not receving any credit from this, but they are refusing to tell anyone who made it... would you be mad?

I'm not sure if I'd be mad but I'd be intrested to know why they refused to tell them. Maybe it was a misunderstanding?

I can only think of two reasons...
1) They dont want the "competition" of someone else doing this type of an event or someone doing it themselves rather than going through them.
or
2) They just don't like me anymore lol

and sadly I think it's more of #2.

Awwws.. Well don't let it get you down. See if you can get some for whoever requested them and see if u can get them to give u some refferals!

I have no knowledge of who-all is involved with this Sens - but I do have a suggestion as to how to handle this situation.

I would explain to the officers of the group the situation and ask them to please acknowledge your work if they are going to continue use your creations.

If they refused to acknowledge you as the creator, if the group has a Forum here, I'd post a message naming your work as a public notice. And again, ask for the officers to please acknowledge your work.

See if that brings satisfaction.

Good advice, and thats exactly what I did... I made some of the similar items, although they are 10 times better now since I've had more expierence with animations.

I am still upset though...

Merwen has the perfect remedy, and as you said you made them now 10 times better. I know it doesnt take away the being upset about it, but is there anyway you can claim your work everywhere in the forums and then some without getting in trouble?

I mean can you say since they are useing your work and not giving you credit, can't you post it everywhere? I'm sorry but even though you made better ones that would still piss me off and I would have to make it known to everyone these people somehow.

Isn't that stealing, which is exactly what the Lindens is proud to say they fixed?

I dont know if it would be ok to post that information or not... but now that I think about it... I am not as mad as I was at first... I mean the people that contacted me knew that they could count on me for what they needed and since there are not very many known custom animators it wasn't hard for them to figure it out...

Although I am working very hard on some new stuff and I will make them available to the public so they do not "feel" they need to spend thousands of Lindens to put on a good show!
