Avalon - end of an era

Hello,

It's been over a year since we created Avalon., in that time we have had a lot of fun creating and developing an in world brand.

I know from the numerous IM's and e-mails people have enjoyed the products we have created. As a team, we have had a blast developing them!

Due to time constraints on a new VW project – not too mention RL pressure – we are stopping all Avalon development as of today.

We will be keeping Avalon Island running for the next few months; our entire inventory will be available in the mega-mall. All our mainland locations and mall rental locations will be closed.

We will keep www.spacethinkdream.com web site up and running.

I would personally like to thank all who have been involved and everyone who has purchased our products.

We will be back in the spring with a new project.

Duuude... Avalon was like a virtual brand name with realworld bridging. That always tripped me out. Well Fizik, thanks to you and yo crew (I generalize but eh, you individuals know who you are ) for showin' me a good time and givin' me a tour around and stuff.

One of the most magical moments for me was listening to the downtempo electronic and flyin' around Avalon when I first came to SL. The sun was setting, I dove underwater through some pipes, and reemerged to find myself in front of those avalon.mobiles a short while after. And then, MrsJakal just got me one not too long ago! Awww. It's all connected.

Cyclical. Ouroboros!

Ahhh.

I'll miss Avalon. Your crew really pushed what can be done with visual identities and point-of-sale displays. And your items and stores were always instantly recognizable as Avalon.

I also appreciate how you promoted SL artists and gave them a place to build and sell. Thanks for the effort you put into it

Good luck Fiz, I recently had a bout of RL pressure and hassles - fun though it may be here - you gotta take care of whats REALLY important sometimes..

I'm an Avalon addict! This is sad news but I'm looking forward to seeing what you all do down the road in SL.

Sorry to hear this Fizik. I hope you still have some plans in-world that we can look forward to. Avalon brought some great ideas and some very nice gadgets, gizmos and curios. Good luck for your future ventures.

Wow Avalon was literally the reason i joined Second Life, it'll be really sad to not see it anymore, but Im also excited to see you guys are going to work on something new. I personally love every little thing that was made in connection to Avalon, so im sure whatever is next will be just as inspiring.

awww.. Fizik! I am sorry to see Avalon go! I was not a regular visitor unfortunatly for me, but I have many friends that very much enjoyed all you offered. I was most lucky to see your work in one of the shopping sims I worked on for a bit. I know your work will be missed, but I do hope that this does not mean you will be leaving forever. I hope that you are able to still be a part of SL as you do have much to offer even if not in such a grand way. Best wishes no matter what! *hugs*

Brother chaos is all around... sometimes I walk there, yes god knows some time I take a bus there....

Avalon was also the beginning of an era. I believe it was the first island sim sold. I could be wrong on that but if not then second or something. There was much worry and drama about the ties to a commercial venture and how this was going to hurt second life. Fizik was into the island commercially as can be seen from the first post in this thread where he talks about branding. But it certainly was not the disaster some people were predicting with McDonalds and Nike following. And with all the drama on the forums, Fizik only posted a couple of times to clarify things. He seems like a very quiet person who tried an experiment combining marketing with the creative aspects of SL. Best wishes Fizik in your first and second life.

I want to thank Fizik for allowing me the opportunity to showcase the skyscraper there, and its subsequent additions. Also for being the space where I conceived my dome, which remains one of my favorite builds, ever..

Enjoy the future, and I look forward to what comes next..

I'm really sorry to see avalon go.
It's hard to find places that are willing to put up with a lil lag for a lot of atmosphere :)
I hope to have something of that scale again in SL at some point...
