On tonight's events list, in my online time (12pm-4pm SL) 25 events are scheduled. Out of those, a whopping fourteen are Tringo. One further event is something called "Bingtris", which I assume to be a cheap rip-off of Tringo. Last night, a class was scheduled entitled "Tringo For Beginners", which I take to be a cynical attempt to earn Linden subsidy!

Stop this Tringo madness! At least a few teenage boys got some titillation from all the thong contests a few months ago.

When I get a more stable schedule I will start events where we raid people's houses at random. I have a few prime targets picked out and will be calling the events as few as 15 minutes in advance. I'd like to see more 'flashmob' events as well.

It's actually a very well written single player tringoish type game with a daily progressive payout. Created by Tony Tigereye of Tropics Entertainment ... half of the Tropical Alien group (Zeta Entertainment aka me is the other half). Top notch game, as is all of his stuff.

If your referring to our event. No money from ll was asked for or taken as part of a teaching class. We held an event to help teach noobs how to play Tringo. It also gave them a chance to win as we did not allow advanced players to join in for the 1st hour.

We spent our time our efforts and our money adding to the pot. We asked for nothing in return.

Hi, my name is Danny, and I've been clean from Tringo for 13 days now. Mainly because my friends have handcuffed me to my bed and force-fed me orange juice and sugar wafers non-stop.

I can still see them, though. Little neon-colored things, marching down the bedroom walls, forming pattern after pattern. When I try to drift off to sleep, they crawl up on the bed and nibble my toes.

I try to distract myself every day by logging on these forums, but I always have to pass by the Last Ten Things Sold List, and there are always at least two Tringo Scoreboards on it.

My friends just let me scream myself to sleep. What else can they do?

I have no problem whatsoever with people playing tringo, I don't really care what others do for fun. However I was unlucky enough to be visiting a friend in Limantour while a game of tringo was being played next door, and I think that the game should be redesigned a bit so that the person running the event does not need to use the shout button for every single chat entry. I'm not playing the game. I do NOT need to be updated as to the status of the game every 30 seconds. The playing area was fairly large, and if there had been players in the back, they may have been out of local chat range, but please, whoever is running these events, stand in the middle of the playing area, instead of up at the front, so you DON'T have to spam half of the sim. It's thoughtless and impolite.

So during a four hour stretch, just under 60% of the listed events are 'tringo' related. There are 20,000 people here. If those 14 events average 10 each you are still talking about <1% of the population. Even if I was generous and said that only 10,000 really spend time here it's about 1.5%.

Overreacting a tad? You? Never. :-)

Suggestion for the shout problem...

Host speaks into a prim with an llListen() configured JUST for them.

That prim shouts on an alternate channel that all the peoples' game boards (or whatever tringo uses) listen for.

Those game boards, in turn, IM the individual avatars engaged in the game what the host is saying.

Just an idea... having never played Tringo, I'm not sure if this is even feasible.

Regards,

-Flip

Flip, I think it's a great idea, and I'll be giving it a shot on a current project.

In the config file of the game; the host can set the shout messages to:FALSE.

*I* am that bored. But I forget to follow you around the forums. And then I lose track of you. And then I ignore the forums. So I guess I'm not all that effective. Oh and I'm not witty. So actually, I contributed nothing to this thread whatsoever. But I am now using the phrase "cock off", so all is not lost. :D :D
