To all residents who received the following email from the Linden Lab team.

Dear Second Lifers

Last week we suffered a two-day period (from 12/29 wednesday PM through 12/31 friday PM) where very few people were able to log into Second Life, due to a failure in a database disk. We are going to issue a two day credit to all users who pay recurring fees (those with premium accounts and those who own land) to cover this period. The credit will be equal to 2 days of your estimated monthly fees, which is calculated as the sum of your monthly premium fee and your projected land tier fees on the amount of land that you own as of today. This credit will be deducted from your next recurring payment. Your specific credit can be viewed by visting your account section on the Second Life website.

Again, we apologize for the interruption last week. There are more upgrades underway to both hardware and software - as we continuously improve the reliability and performance of Second Life.

Thank you for being a loyal Second Life member.

Sincerely,
--The Second Life Team at Linden Lab

I don't need the credit!!!

Any of you paying residents agree?

Do any of you paying residents agree that Lindens Labs use your Account Credit to start a Tsunami Fund?
Granted the total that will be credited to your account will be very little vs the total aggravation of not being able to log on those days.
But the total sum of all Account Credits could benefit those in need.

Not the best idea

No, I can't totally agree.

Anyone who REALLY wants to help the Tsunami Fund, go to your online bank service, and WIRE any money you're happy to give. If I count right, i wired more than Linden Labs would've given, and I did that voluntarily, which IS the main part of giving.

So, anyone who REALLY wants to help victims, just click 4 times on your online bank site and give!

I agree Zonax, the amount from the Linden credit would be small.
But anything is better than nothing.
There are many ways to donate to victims.
We all have our choice of how.

Yes, one thing is true, that you wouldn't NOTICE paying for it if it gets automatically deducted. But, in this ways, you ARE paying for many funds that way. If a big company, like a telephone company is giving victims money, and you're a subscriber, it is in fact YOU paying the victims, in a way. Though you can be sure that the telephone company will get applauded and get credits. And, in a way, that's not that totally unfair.

Anyway, who wants to donate can move their asses (credit cards, etc) and do so.

Then some possibilities (copy the url into the browser, check HTTPS, for security)

Red Cross (credit card donation):

UNICEF USA (also possible with a credit card):
