Can I filter my IM-to-email?

Is it possible to filter my IM-to-email facility so I get messages only from real people, rather than a message from every single object which decides to tell me where it is, or where it's been returned from, or just IMs me for no real reason? I get hundreds a day, and they're a complete waste of space - but there are people I want to stay in touch with when I'm not in-world.

Anyone?

Being able to not receive bloody IMs from objects at all would be a step in the right direction. I come here to talk to people, not hoverbikes.

This would be nice. I don't really give a shit if someone touched my dirigible 42 times while I was offline, or if my dog thinks its lost despite the fact I know exactly where I left it. And I definitely don't need hundreds of emails about it.

I'd like to go one further; I'd like a ruleset of some kind regarding people, too. Yes, there are some people I am generally interested in receiving IM's from. But there are also some annoying asses who I'd love to automatically dump their IM's and not forward them to email.

Maybe you oughta put this in the feature suggestions forum so people can shoot it down as a stupid idea officially? Oops, I mean...

I'd touch your dirigible any time, Kris ...

(I might just email Linden direct and bother them rather than posting on the forum.)

Just remember it emails me to tell me every time you do... so you can't just sneak a quick feel.

It's fairly easy to set up a filter in your email client to filter out object emails. I do this on my GMail account to filter my Primcrafters vendor email into their own folder.

Object emails always begin with the line:
The object 'Some Object' has sent you a message from Second Life:

I love it when I get online and a picture of my carpet stuck in a mountain is sent to me. Iwish those would come to my email. It is things like that, that would jsut make my day while working
