Second Life ruins my First Life :)

Has anyone else noticed a distinct lack of "suprise" in their first life due to Second Life? :)

While I was flipping through the really high numbered cable channels on TV earlier, I accidentally stumbled on to a bizarre European talk show along the lines of Jerry Springer but with nude men showing off their pierced nether regions.

"Seen it", I said. And kept flipping.

I no longer would be suprised if a flying milk truck filled with vampires landed on my back yard and they jumped out and started playing hopscotch whilst crocheting earmuffs.

Seen it.

Ah Jack, that's hilarious. :)

As for me... my own experience of the world has always been bizarrely surreal. I stumble into one weird freakout after another, and have long since stopped questioning "Why?" but just making the best of it. I embrace some very "normal", banal things 'cuz it's nice to be able to sit on a beanbag chair by some white picket fences and not have to worry if an eagle's going to fall on you.

In general, the Internet of course has all sorts of peculiar stuff on it (likely an understatement), but one of the beauties of Second Life is that you can so interactively participate in these types of experiences. Earlier today, I was hopping on stage with two very cute -- and HUGE -- calico cats and an avid jump-roper while a big game of Tringo was being played. The sun was shining, a friend of mine was flapping her arms on a big pink ball hoping to fly, and I brought out a sushi tray the size of an SUV to feed the masses.

Second Life is very beloved to me for reasons like this. :D

hehe now that ya mention it i need to recapture that sense of wonder i used to have in sl. not like i'm not still loving it but lately i'm definitely getting harder to surpise. come on tho when stuff like Torley mentioned or even the joke example Jack had are pretty much every day boring usual stuff than it's hard not to feel like nothing can shock you.

where did the wonder go? did Torley's giant sushi platter crush it? hmmmm gotta think about this one.

Oh Jack, Jack, Jack!

Remember the day I used to embrace your cylinder?

Can we get those days back do ya think ;)

Saying that, nothing much really surprises me in RL anymore, it only surprises me that the store won't accept linden dollars, and its not publicly acceptable to get naked so quickly and easily and get paid for it :(

Olympia, I'd take your suggestion but I'm busy flipping through the really high numbered cable channels to see where it ends...

So far, it doesn't look like it does ... I'm on channel 438.

It's a Sane Man's Surf Through The Channels :p

Something broke in my a long tim ago to really decipher normal from weird. Probably the seriously distrubing dreams I have :p . Alot of things in real life have become so predictable that I waste alot of my free time playing SL. Randomness = fun!

Too many parallels

Lately I wish RL would stop being like SL (or is it the other way around?)

- Hearing people talk about self defense when they really need to call the cops

- Girls who want commitment after one afternoon of kissing

- People not respecting the time, property, and fun of others

Hmmm....well, one thing that concerns me, is that when I see a tree outside in rl. I wish to use the "edit and position" to move it. ;)
