Unless you are going to play at the same time, then you need 2 PCs over a router, and 2 downloads.

I know sometimes when I'm scripting or making stuff to sell, I could use a second PC to check permissions / etc.

Or, if you're willing to brave the slugginess, you can run multiple instances of SL on one computer:

http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=newview

In other words, the Shortcut Target: line should look something like:

"C:\Program Files\SecondLife\newview.exe" -multiple

Ah, that defeats me being able to test stuff, then.

Doesn't that screw with your cache, anyway?

Just need to remember to make two user preferences on Windows and alt tab log in and out of each and you can simultaniously have two versions of SL running...;)

Hmmm Anna, that's the default installation path. Are you sure you're right-clicking and checking the Properties of a Shortcut, and not the actual newview.exe ? I made a Shortcut and put it on my Desktop.

Hiro, I've not found any problems to my knowledge. It just runs sluggishly 'cuz you have two Second Lives brawling! OH WAIT, THAT JUST GIVES AWAY MY LINDEN ALT!

^kidding, kidding ;)
