This is horrible and totally unacceptable. The lag is soo bad you cant event type. Not just my palce or at big events either. Seems to be SL wide. I have 1 & a quarter gigs memory dual bandwith bridged ports. My system can run Yahoo mess, psp8, sl, and a net window, all the same time and never lag, so it isnt me! For the love of SL fix it guys!!!!!

Does this have anything to do with the recent UpdateGeom problems some of us have been experiencing?

Nyna and Surreal, if your Frame Consoles (Alt-2 with Debug menu on) are open, what does it show?

It's hard to get an accurate reading of the debug menu when literally like, the entiiire screen freezes for about ten to fifteen seconds at a time sometimes. This is my biggest reason for not wanting telehubs anymore, simply because I hate not being able to actually get from one place to the next anymore. :(

Nyna, ya know I love ya, but typically, these can be narrowed down to resident issues.

When they can not, you can rely on residends to talk about problems between servers - like Chromal recently did, in a conversation with Cory Linden, that made it to the town halls.

The truth remains, while many bugs exist in SL... and many problems exist both on the server side and client side... that well over 90% of the problems exist in the creations we produce.

Nyna, I'm not saying you're one of these people, but I, myself, have been found guilty in the past. The problem is the Lindens ... Linden Lab... does not produce a "how to avoid lag and build responsibly" manual. I've given several classes over the past year on how to, but hey, I'm still guessing. I don't have to math to back statements like an "llSensorRepeat() is a BAD idea", or a "1024x1024 textures takes 16 times as long to load as a 256x256 texture". That's all just guesswork. We don't know compression algorithms... we don't know much of the overall API.

Yet, its a good guess. Until LL tells us otherwise, its a GOOD guess too. What gets to me is when those among us who can make an educated guess aren't listened too.

All my best, as ever,

-Flip

Well I haven't had any problems myself until about a week ago. Every sim I go to is in the red.

I agree with you completely and this could very well HAD been the case if I had built anything new, or if it was just my lot. It isnt. Its every where. I am not talking about the kind of lag, we had like at Jen and Crows birthday party. Thats the normal Lag of full sim. This lag, you can't do anything. You can not type. Type your chat hit eneter and it shows a few moments later. The screen freezes up for moment or two. Howerever if I go out of SL to another program. I have no problems. :(
