Reset my character?

Is there any way to reset my character, and bring it back to the way it was when I created it? I think I put some wrong items in my inventory, and now it freezes up when trying to read the inventory.

Claw, freezes up, you say?

Try this... remove ALL of your attachments... you can prolly tell by right-clicking on parts of your avatar and Detaching.

If that still doesn't work...

If you want to reset to the default look, go into your Inventory window, and scroll allll the way up to the top and look for a main folder titled "Library". Inside it in the Body section, you'll find a number of presets you can go back to.

When you say "it freezes up", do you mean that when you run the SL client, it just seems to pause at the "Loading Inventory" screen and not do anything? Right now, that's normal, unfortunately. Give it a few minutes, and you should be able to log in just fine. There was a series of successively larger and larger problems that led to this temporary fix being put in place. The Lindens say they're working on solving the server issue, but that if we just wait a couple minutes, we should be able to log in.

Now, if it's locking up your computer, (if you're running in full-screen mode and can't tell if it's locking up, try setting it to run in Windowed mode by clicking on the "Preferences" button before logging in.) or if the SL application is crashing, then that means your database files are likely corrupt and you need to uninstall and then reinstall SL. You won't lose any inventory or appearance settings, as it's all stored on the server anyway.
